Tonight i attended a meeting on a new Stadium for O.A.F.C. that was chaired by Oldham Athletic and Oldham Council. I was there as a resident of Failsworth (and a blue) and i am now pretty sure that this project will happen. There was hardly any opposition to the plans and to be honest the club won everyone over as they are also promising to upgrade local grassroots football facilities.

This will mean Oldham with be 2.4 miles from Citys ground. This also means they will have a Manchester postcode and a Manchester address. (Can you imagine City having an OL postcode!!)

It was also brought to everyones attention that FC United are planning to build a stadium on Ten Acre lane in Newton Heath. This is exactly 1.1 miles from Citys stadium. They will officially be our nearest neighbours with Oldham and Man Yoo a few metres behind respectivly.

These stadiums are intended to be built and developed in the next 5 years.
Point being........ When United go bust do not worry about a local Derby Day, because their will be another 2 teams in the Manchester Area to replace them.

Interesting stuff, so they're not moving to the Lancaster Club then?
Yes they are buying the Lancaster club as a training facility and opening it for public use. They are building a new stadium on the park land next door. 40 acres!

The guy from Oldham was the most honest person involved in a football club i have ever heard.
When asked why he and the other owners were involved in Oldham F.C. he said "Money".
He alsop said that they have put 12million into the club and in the longterm they aim to recoup that and more.

No one will give a tuppeny toss about FC United in five years when they get to a decent level and stop being able to simply walk through whatever league they're in.Way too much like hard work for the average rag to support a team that's geeting battered every week.

Made me piss the other day when I saw a programme about thier support.Half the tools that were there were wearing current rag shirts.

Irony really is totally lost on them.
