It was appriciated from the Stokies that were there too.

Both clubs have shown this week that despite the best efforts of some, sportsmanship is not quite dead yet. Fair play to all involved and it has been good to have a positive slant on things for a change and it added to a great weekend, even if the result wasn't what we had wanted.

Enjoy your summer break and we will see you next year, when i'm sure the love in will have faded and hostilities will resume (in the right way of course, you Manc bastards :o) )!

Goooaaaarrrrn Stoke!!!

The applause for both the Stoke team and their supporters at the end was like something from a bygone era of honesty, respect and sportsmanship between rival fans, before the creation of the Premier League, when graceless impatience, greed and a sneering, hostile arrogance became the default setting of the new breed of football 'consumer'.
Proof that football still has soul.
honesty respect and sportsmanship before the premiership started. You obviously weren't about in the 70's and 80's

Did you ever go to Leeds in the 70s????
No. I did in the 80s though!!!
I know what you mean, there will always be games against certain rivals when it kicks off.
But for me there was more respect between the average fans back in the day than there is now.
Maybe the fact that there is so much live football now, and so many places like this forum, that everyone has an opinion about every other club.
Also, we have more phone-in radio shows etc, where bating and goading of rivals is more commonplace.

how many of them were there? 150-200?

very poor show 2bh, no trouble in taking 25,000 on their big day out eh.

There's irony for you. Perhaps if you went to more meaningless end of season City games you would have had enough points to get a semi ticket yourself instead of moaning on here about the injustice of those that do go getting tickets before you.

haha!

jmw obviously you wasnt there last night because there was way more than 150-200 people. They must have been drained to fuck having just lost a cup final and then playing the same team 3 days later. Nothing but respect for the lads that turned up for them last night. Proper fans.

How sad that Manchester City FC and it's fans showed more respect to the Stoke fans than their own players (barring two) and manager did.

Last away game of the season and they couldn't be arsed spending a few minutes coming over to thank their loyal fans properly - I know they'd just lost again but those people had come a fair way and spent a few quid to see their team.

Hope we get a better farewell at Bolton ;-)

Yeah there was never trouble between fans before the consumerism that is the Premier League. Oh hang on a minute...

its strange how you can change your opinion of people, I personally wouldnt normally give the time of day to any stoke fans but last night I found myself walking over to 4 stokies and asked them were they looking for a boozer they could get in and recommended the Grove as we were close to it - no way , pre cup final would I have done this.

I was there and there was about 200 of them.

Don't have a seasoncard so no wembley ticket but bore the people to death with the same irrelevant comment.

Crap attendance by glory hunting stoke, fair play to those who turned up but that was a pathetic attendance by the self proclaimed loudest and best fans in the premier league.
