I agree, I had the same problem. We should have played in the red and black kit to avoid this happening.Excuse the small rant... I've been trying to watch the friendly with barca over the last few days but as i have issues with my eyes it's kinda hard to see the difference between our 3rd kit and their changed colours.
I know its only a friendly but the whole point of the different strips is to avoid this exact problem but it seems to be more of a why sell 1 or 2 kits per season when we can promote 3 by wearing them when we don't need to.
I swear we wore the horrible no badge 3rd kit last season way more than the away shirt. Which is probably due to having a blue and white home with a white away...
i feel sorry for anyone who is colourblind with some of these kits.
Anyway, rant over. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
They used to change kits to account for black and white tv and also take the players into account.Aren’t kit clashes decided upon by whether a referee can differentiate between the two teams at pitch-level, and nothing to do with whether fans can tell the difference?
I found City’s black shorts helped to easily identify the teams. Red/black shirts would have made it even easier. One team was wearing light purple shits and shorts.
The other team was wearing yellow shirts with horizontal stripes and black shorts.
If there was still any doubt, we were the pasty looking ones.
It was an odd one that, it was more a light grey, so not far from thier two white kits, and the other one is blue.Could be worse. Newcastle wore their 4th kit at Brighton the other week. It was blue and barely distinguishable from Brighton’s.
From shit to shitterI was amazed we played in that horrid 3rd shirt when we could’ve worn the red and black stripes
