Classic Albums.

new order - lowlife
primal scream - screamadelica
green day - american idiot
beach boys - pet sounds
pil- live in tokyo
sisters of mercy - first and last and always
bob marley - legend

all did it for me
not as random collections of songs but as just great albums
even tho legend dont count it just stuck with me for ever
wont tire of listening to any of them, and Im an ipod shuffle man now

8 pages and no one has mentioned "My Aim is True", first album by a seminal star who followed it up with "Olivers Army", not quite as good but still awesome, and then went seriously downhill from then on.

My Aim Is True really struck a chord with me as a teen looking for something different from the large corporation rock of the time, the Floyds and Yes and the like were never my scene, and punk was tooo extreme. This came along at exactlly the right time for me and filled a huge void.

10p to the first person who names the artist

My 10p - it's the great Elvis Costello - the Olivers Army gave it away - never a fan myself but totally appreciate why folk liked him and his music - he stood out from the crowd.

My Bloody Valentine
Loveless (1991)

The album took 2 years to make, used 19 different recording studios and cost £250,000, almost bankrupting their independent record label, Creation...the result being one of the most original and influential albums of the 90s.

Really like that album, love to go walking around somewhere, put it on my ipod and go walking somewhere.

from earlier on in this thread

Some great albums there mate, although I'm not quite sure The Stranglers "Greatest Hits" and "The Best Of The Doors" counts as classic albums!

certainly rattus norvegicus would

good to see some stranglers fans on here
