Not British but neighbour over the road had a very old ( late 70's) SAAB 900 - he loves his SAAB's and says modern ones were just a Vauxhall in a fancy frock which is why they failed. Anyway - yonks ago when he was in the Navy coming back from Teesside Airport his dad picked him up and going thru Yarm he saw his old 70's 900 for sale on the roadside which he bought. Spent about 20 years in his garage and when he left the Navy he decided he would have it done up. He used his company car to tow it out of his garage ( brakes seized and hoped to unseize them ) and the SAAB nearly split down the middle - it was rotten to fuck. He now has a 9-3 in the garage - early 2000's I think as he has it on a private reg - so he has a Vectra in a fancy frock in the end. Still says SAAB's are bullet proof but his daily drivers have over the last few years been Mazda's. I can still see his face when he went to tow the old one out and his Mrs shouted to him that the front was moving but the back wasn't ha ha ha

Always fancied a resto brit project, but my garage is a bit too small, and it's full of bikes anyway.
Brother in law has just bought a spitfire, paid fuck all for it, but seems all there.
Great escape in the winter if you've got a good garage.

I've sat in one, mate of mines, not run since he bought it about 15 years ago, doubt it ever will, he just likes to sit in it with a beer and a mate every now and again.

There are only 22 rhd tr8's. This is a conversion done using all original parts to the same spec.
