Classic R&B Soul Greats

Almost any Wilson Pickett track, followed by Teddy Pendergrass.
Best singers and screamers/squealers of all time.
Closely followed by Isaac Hayes, 1968, Hot Buttered Soul, and Black Moses a little later.

I really like obscure pieces of work/ unconventional songs and this weird little hybrid of R'n'B, Funk and Pop produced by Prince for Kate Bush, is one them.

First time I heard it, it confused the hell out of me as I was listening to Kate Bush and then it totally didn't sound like her at all! When my brain unscrambled, after a few listens, I could hear Prince stamped all over it!

It jars a little(as it did for me a long time back) but when you get comfortable, after a few listens it chugs along. To some it must feel like some crazy mash up, but for me, it's just Prince being Prince!

'Why Should I Love You?' on her 'The Red Shoes' album.
