How hard would it be for the FA to go, ok Mr Clattenburg, could you lay out any information you have pertaining or relating to the statement you made, so that we can follow it up and gather more information from other parties.

if true, we’re talking Juventus levels of corruption and match fixing - the football club(s) should face stripping of titles, fines and relegation. The people responsible should be stripped of honours and barred from having football association at any level.

Any suggestion from a manager/player that a referee may have favoured one team over another is met with pretty much a zero tolerance approach. This however will disappear into the galaxy as if it had never happened.

‘Scared of Roy Keane’, if that’s true it’s fucking pathetic. No professional referee should be scared or intimidated by a player, or a manager. You don’t see the likes of Nigel Owens intimidated by 20 stone props or 6ft 5 second rows, he and other rugby refs give them a proper bollocking and insist on being called ‘sir’.

If they can’t be impartial they shouldn’t be doing the job.

He said he was going to give a goal kick, which he thought was the correct decision but had Keane screaming in his face and he was afraid so gave them a corner instead.

It would be interesting to hear him explain himself in what context he believes favourable decisions have been given.

Was it because of the presure exerted during a match and then when the ref looked back in hindsight he considered he was swayed by the pressure.

Or was it because the ref went into a game favouring a side.

Interesting stuff but yes If I was a betting man this would be the last ref I would trust.

Any decent investigative journalist would be and should be all over this. The fact that they aren't speaks volumes.

The corruption goes to the highest levels and those brokering power must have some very 'influential' friends.
