If this scandal had been investigated and dealt with, then football would be better all round.

I couldn't see this in the main United thread and feel it deserves it's own thread rather than getting lost in there. Somewhat astonishingly, Clattenburg has admitted that refs were biased towards United when Ferguson was manager. I know this is hardly news to most of us lot on here but it's nice to see that it confirms what we already knew. Here's the quote:

“He is wrong to suggest there is an aura around United that sees them given favourable decisions. There used to be when Fergie was there, but that has eased massively since he left.”

Absolutely disgraceful,but is anyone surprised and he comes out with it as if it’s nothing unusual..Why are the media not calling for an investigation as someone posted a page or two back the corruption goes right to the top and those brokering power must have very influential friends ..

Ye it’s still going on we can all see it and he’s just confirmed it. But nothing I repeat nothing will be done!

Other refs' must have been puzzled by some of Clutterfuck's decisions. Surely PGMOL must also had concerns about his performance. Perhaps other ref's yielding to outside pressures was so widespread, PGMOL just turned a blind eye (and issued a ban on any manager making accusations).

He was very friendly with Toxic Shittiwater and gave us a few "breaks" that changed when the cheques stopped coming. Apart from the sickswan I'm struggling to think when he hadn't fucked us over.

He reffed the 4-2 against Arsenal. Nothing untoward about his performance during the game and he played a great advantage in the build-up to Adebayor’s goal. However, he royally fucked us over in the 3-3 at Bolton 3 months later, giving Bellamy a second yellow for a “dive” when he’d clearly been fouled IIRC. He’d also made some disparaging remarks about some of our players - Bellamy and Zabba I think - according to Hughes’s backroom staff but that story disappeared into the ether after Hughes was sacked a week later.

As for the 6-1 at The Swamp, well even he had no choice but to send Evans off but shortly afterwards when it was still only 1-0 we were denied a stonewall penalty when Micah was fouled and Twattenburg did some weird fucking gesture with his hands to explain why he didn’t give it. It’s only because we went on to batter them out of sight that he wasn’t able to make any further attempts to influence the result in their favour.
