Claudio Bravo - 2016/2017 performances (continued)

I've tried ignoring this thread in the past because it seemed a bit over the top and like some posters just wanted to slag off Bravo before giving him a chance.

The way I see it now is the playing out from the back is brilliant, I love it and can see the more we practise the better it will become so I can completely understand why we brought him in. That all said, I don't think there is any hiding the fact he's looking like the Kolarov version of a goalkeeper, shits himself about getting his shorts dirty or maybe getting hit by the ball.

Yes when it clicks it is the most beautiful football ever seen and every second is a joy to watch. The thing with this league is that many of the scouts here puts priority on how to read players including keepers. I guess that's why midtable teams can be so competitive. It became common knowledge in the scouting circle that Hart's weakness is the low left shot. Already in Torino he has let in 5 shots in low left. Last season for City, 25% of the goals he conceded were low left shot. In fact, the first goal that he conceded last season was a long range low left shot on the 6th minute by Moses in the 1-2 loss against Westham. The same spot to his left. He never ever shook this off. What he did shake off was conceding goals on far corners and posts. He used to concede these when under the coaching of Massimo Battara. But when Mancisidor took over, Hart never conceded a top corner shot for two seasons. Differnt coaches bring different skills to the table.

Bravo would benefit from a new coach or new coaching approach to improve his reaction and speed. Mancisidor was Bravo's coach in Real Sociedad so there is a danger of collusion where both coach and keeper are only focusing on what both already know, but I highly doubt this is the case. Hart had the advantage of being coached by a series of reactionary and classical keeper coaches. He had the best of Battara and Mancisidor. Bravo's is less diverse with Mancisidor and Pep and I think a coach called Llumo? All of them share the same football approach.

Nice post mate. Good to see another angle presented without calling either player out.

Theres no denying we need more from him, but what annoys me is the people calling him shit... he might have played shit for us, but does that warrant inoring his past acheivements? I can understand if he was some nobody, but the guy has been world class, not ten years ago, but the last couple of years. But no, its not just bad form, the goalkeeping experts reckon that "im better than him" or "hes the worst goalkeeper i have ever seen". Its just hyperbole

What he did before doesn't matter,it's what he is doing in a blue shirt that alarms people, lets hope he gets his act together soon but the prem is relentless as we know, the opposition are targetting him as the weak link and it's only going to get worse, let's hope he has the gonads for it

There just showing their maturity levels.

There targeting our defence is probably more accurate

Like McManaman was world class at city, just had a run of bad form. I see no one has a good word to say about Immell on here either, and he was thrown into a far worse situation.

MOM v Spuds at weekend mark my words. Let's get behind the bloke FFS do you think he's not trying his hardest? He won us the 3 points at Palace with his point blank save from about 4 yards out. Yes he's struggling but crucifying him isn't going to help.

well I have been watching city for over 50 years and he is without doubt the worst keeper we've had. eike immel runs him close but that's it.
and for the life of me I don't understand what he did or didn't do elsewhere has any bearing on what he does at city.

It doesn't have any bearing but no one has said it does.

Bravo isn't the worse keeper we ever had not by a long chalk. There is too much over analysis in this thread imho,
