You suggest we can afford to transition this year whatever that means and imply next year we will be better, I'm sure we will but he fact is so will every team we are competing with. You suggest pep needs time to settle in and I'm pointing out that's not necessarily the case as conte has got the measure of the league and his resources immediately. Factor in the suggestions by many that pep and txixi have been recruiting prior to peps arrival and you could argue the need for settling in should be lessened. Bravo may well have needed time but he's now had months and there's no sign he's adjusting. Maybe some players can't. The manager needs to recognise when that's the case and react. City can't stand still or regress football doesn't allow for it anymore. Miss out on top four and recruiting players will be an issue no matter who is in charge.
I think you have misread or misinterpreted my post completely. I have not suggested anything other than this is what the club maybe thinking and accepting.
Yes, we probably have recruited for Pep prior to his arrival, but that was still with another manager in charge playing his own style whilst trying to maintain CL football, which he did. But, until Pep gets the squad he wants/needs, we are as weak as the weakest link IMO, and he therefore does need time to get his team.
I agree other teams will be moving fwd too, and that's the beauty of the league for me.
As for Conte. Yes he is doing well but tbh, he has a really good squad of players, some might argue better than ours. Yes he has them motivated, but their motivation may well have simply getting Moanio offloaded.
Bravo, IMO is an excellent keeper who is struggling atm, be that for whatever reason, but I believe Pep will persevere and get his confidence back. To do that though, he will need a better team in front of him and, of course, match going fans to get behind him which except for a minority, they are.
