Claudio Bravo Injury - Muric Recalled from NAC Breda

We won't cancel Muric's loan. He is NAC's starter this season and it's better that he stay on loan. City obviously rate him higher than Grimshaw, but I don't believe there's going to be a noticeable difference at their age. Neither are good enough or ready to be our keeper and neither is an ideal cup keeper so it would be pointless to do it.

My guess is that Ederson just plays most games. Could let Grimshaw play the first rounds of the League Cup or FA Cup depending on the opponent. I suspect we can still sign a free agent but there really hasn't been much discussion about when the cut off is (or if it was the start of the season or not). It used to be that you could still sign them after the transfer window had closed but I haven't seen any sort of confirmation if that is still the case.

With the European window still open, could we buy NAC Breda a new keeper and bring Muric back?

Or, for the benefit of the watching journalists, pay NAC a £5m “good will” fee for releasing Muric from his loan and they then could buy a new keeper for £5m.

There's a really, really, really, really fucking gigantic difference mate, no offence to Grimshaw.

This has to be the case to satisfy employment law Can’t deny anyone the right to work

You can sign a free agent at any point in the season..............

Have you seen the list of free agents available when it comes to goalkeepers? No one you've ever heard of, and no one with an estimated value of over 900k.
Really slim pickings available.
We've not considered this could happen or prepared for it at all, selling Gunn and Hart, and sending Muric out on loan left us with 2 experienced keepers and 1 unknown, untried and vastly inexperienced keeper at any level above reserve team football.
Now we've lost one of the experienced guys, we have to pray Eddie stays free from issues until Jan 1st.

Rush goalie it is then!

Plenty of 7-6 thrillers.

Sky will love it.

The issue is that Muric will not improve if he doesn't play. It is better for City in the long term for him to stay there and play in 40-50 games than to maybe play 10 here if he is the back-up all season. This is why Gunn had to leave and he was already established -- it would be more pronounced for Muric.

There is no reason why Ederson can't just play in cup games. You have a "cup" keeper only to make sure the back-up is sharp enough if he's called upon. It's not like it's done because the main keeper doesn't have the fitness to play in every game. City are fucked one way or the other if Ederson gets hurt too so it's totally moot IMO. We will bring in a veteran keeper to be our second one way or the other whether that's now (if we can still sign a free agent) or in January.

I am fairly certain that they can't be registered after a certain point even if they're signed. I believe it used to be in sort of late September-ish as I recall (a few weeks after the transfer window ended). I could be totally misremembering things, but I'm almost certain there was a deadline where a free agent couldn't actually play even if signed until the next registration window opened.
