I have no probs if that is your definition.

For me, for someone to be truly WC, they should excel in all aspects of their position.
For a keeper, I would suggest these would include and others may have a differing list

Shot stopping
Command of box
Saving (obviously)
Strong in either direction
Ball control
Catching
Communication
Distribution

I don't see Joe in excelling in all of these so, in my mind, I could not rank him as WC but see why others might
Do you rate de Gea as world class?

If so, what do you think of de Gea's passing, especially under pressure?

I rate him similar to Joe. Neither I rate as being WC
Fair enough.

I think Joe is much better than de Gea on the ball. Not great, but much better.

I rate de Gea as the number 2 keeper in the world, mainly due to his shot stopping. I rate Joe somewhere in the top 10.

But this is of course subjective. Your criteria differs from mine so you'll reach different conclusions. It's all good though... debating this is fun and often brings to light facts I'm unaware of.

The thing is, there might be legs to this. Neither Bravo nor Ter Stegen want to play second fiddle so selling one will be whats going to be considered. They'll replace one of them with a keeper who's happy to be second choice. I'm personally happy if Bravo comes. Seeing him play for both Chile and Barcelona, he's an exceptional keeper.

It's all interpretation in the end. Some might say if your the best in the world then by default you must be world class. (A comparison against others)

I look at it the other way and think to be WC, you must excel in all aspects of your role. (A comparison against the role)

As you say, good to discuss

De Gea is world class and anyone who doubts it is a bit foolish but thats not really the issue. He is indeed average with his feet, and so is Hart (hart is also seemingly extremely weak on his left side with shots soo by the way), but the difference is DDG has Mourinho as his manager, Hart has Pep Guardiola.

The main difference being Mourinho will probably use Valencia as a right back and have DDG pumping balls anywhere near the right side on the half way line for him to head on, like he did with Cech and Ivanovic at Chelsea. It was an abysmally dull tactic but one they used as option 1 when Cech had the ball. Efficiency with his feet doesnt isnt relied upon under his prior or present manager, so his world class talents in shot stopping are the most forthright thing about him.

Now, Hart is about to be coached by the absolute professor when it comes to playing out from the back. Whether he is as good a shot stopper as DDG isnt important (unfortunately he isnt, despite immense potential and world class performances in some games of course), what is important is whether he is as good with his feet as any keeper potentially in the market. Bravo and Ter Stegan are excellent with their distribution, as were Valdes & Nueur for Pep.
People talk a lot about Oh well I am more arsed about their shot stopping, and I concur to a point but Pep is used to his side being hugely dominant in games where the keeper is often only used probably for the ball at his feet or claiming crosses/corners from some counters etc. I know it is different here in the Prem, but judging by the very first pep session being all about playing from the keeper and at the back, and with Stones incoming; I really dont see much of a future for Hart.
I do expect him to get this year to prove himself, purely because I dont see any real news other than some twitter rumours right now..

De Gea makes plenty of mistakes too. I don't think De Gea is objectively world class, neither is Hart. Difference is Hart has a clear weakness as a keeper whereas I think De Gea is just a bit error-prone, but that gets glossed over because he makes some great saves (as does Joe) and many saves which are straight at him, and he plays for the Rags.

Google translate...Just copied part of the report from Mundo Deportivo (Barca newspaper?) They reporting that a source close to the talks have confirmed, this is almost done! Make of it what you will....If this does happen, I'm guessing it wont be completed until Stegen is back fully recovered from his injury..

He has been told Mundo Deportivo, the most direct environment of Chile released the following message at the Camp Nou Gamper night the night before Ter Stegen was injured : " We have almost done with the City" . According to this very Bravo source close to the talks very on track for the America's Cup champion , 33, lands in the Premier League.

Over £20m seems a lot for a goalkeeper who turns 34 in April.

How good is Claudio Bravo?

He 33 so be good for a few years while peps here personally think Gunn going to be our goalie after that.

He is really really good. Great shot stopper and makes some insane saves. I can't really comment on how he is with his feet and distribution, but I guess being at Barca he couldn't be all that bad. I would definitely prefer him over Ter Stegen.

It also makes more sense than Ter Stegen considering we might be looking at getting Rulli back in a season or two.

How good is Bravo? His name alone explains it. Though in the end I prefer Ter Stegen as he's much younger. Still I wouldn't complain if we end up with Bravo.

Megablue you don't believe that really, do you ?
1/Willy is not the answer, but he will follow Peps instructions as to how to play.
2/ Hart is the better keeper of the two but can't/won't play to Peps instructions
3/ a new keeper looks imminent in the transfer window who is better than Willy but arguably not as good a shotstopper as some believe Joe is ( including Joe) BUT can and will play in the style that Pep requires to make the overall team play in the style that Pep insists on, hence we have a better keeper and the style required .
