Ter Stegen is not worth anything like 70 million, he's good with his feet but overall he's not that great of a keeper. 70 million should get you neur.

Does anyone really think if we offer £50m the Barcelona will tell us to piss off?

Everyone is basing the £67m cost on the fact Enrique said neither keeper would leave for less than the buyout clause.

Well if that's the case then Bravo will cost £32m, yet the reports in Spain think it will be 17-21.

So clearly Enriques stance was just the talk of a manger who didn't want to lose either keeper.

I am sure ter Stegen would be very expensive - maybe even more than Buffon was back in the day, but he's probably the only long term keeper option worth it.

17 mil for 2 seasons is still more expensive then 70mil for 11 seasons thats both keepers playing with us until they are 35. Plus bravos release is around 35 mil but they will do business for less I think the same will happen should we move for ter stegen. I cant see barca holding out for ter stegens and keeping an unhappy player, if we wait to January one of their goslkeepers fee will have dropped dramatically if ter stegen starts bravo is a 33 year old back up, if bravo starts ter stegen is a back up who has made it clear he isnt happy on the bench.

Mate transfers dont work like that, you can't think of Stegen over 11 years ! Mangala was bought in at 23, did he stay for 11 years? No. What is his value today? Loan with an option to buy ! What if tomorrow Stegen doesn't perform well, that nearly 55 million out of the 70 down the drain. In this day and age don't expect any player to stay for over 11 seasons.

Shot stopping wise, some people could argue that Joe is better than Ter Stegen, even though Ter Stegen is a better ball-player.

But Bravo is just better than Hart in every aspect. Magnificent shot stopping and ball-playing abilities. The only downside is his age, which isn't a problem as he's a GK. Buffon is like 100 years old now and he's still world class.

I agree, but Bravo can force a move. It's obvious a decision between ter Stegen and Bravo is essential for Barca this year, and I don't think Bravo will be happy being provisional number 1 until ter Stegen is back.

I thought Stegan was only out for a week or 2?

La Liga hasn't started yet but Barca do play Sevilla in the Spanish Supercup this week.

Yup - which makes the "in two weeks" part of the twitter post make perfect sence.

Karen - I think that you're loyal to Hart because he's been a fantastic asset to City over the years. But also, I think this clouds your judgement.

Pep plays only one way - and he isn't afraid of moving off huge talent to do so.

It's clear to me - and many others - that in spite of how great Hart is - that he has no future under Pep because he's not a natural sweeper.

Best scenario for Hart now is that he moves to a top club and is their #1 keeper and on that basis he holds down his #1 spot in the national side.

I think he'll be content with challenging for his place.

Thinking about it, it is sort of strange that managers are so obsessed with having two good players in every position but only allow the sub goalkeeper to play a handful of games - maybe this next era of football will see that that perspective changes.

It is a challenge he knows he will lose. Thus he is not going to be happy.
