I'm not being flippant here but is that a real photo or has it been Photoshoped? Also I understand about those with deep pockets wanting to climb to the top as it must be very expensive, but it cannot be that easy that there is a trail of climbers waiting their turn to get to the summit ?

It’s real last I heard it was £40k to go up you don’t carry anything just yourself and oxygen everything is done got you, there is one path up and down and a small window to do it so everyone goes st the same time causing bottlenecks

A friend of mine did Kilimanjaro
In the morning when they were near to the summit, he said he looked down and there were snakes of people all over the mountain heading upwards and when they reached the top there was a gift shop!
The guide said that this wasn't mountaineering and was going to set up his own company which would take climbers to more remote and far less commercialised locations

I know of experienced mountaineerds (Alpine Guides) who have had their Everest summit attempts thwarted by middle class tourists who up until setting foot on Everest had never put on a pair of crampons in anger, let alone learned any form of mountaincraft.

These idiots need 100% supervision, and are a danger to everyone else on the mountai as even the smallest error can be catastrophic.

The whole permit to climb system needs an overhaul so that only people with sufficient experience are allowed to climb.
