Clocks go back sunday october 27th (Europe)

Would normally let merlin out to dusk at 6pm but got him in and locked up early , having a cuddle. It suddenly goes dark from now on

British summer time went quick this year
 
At end of t'day, you have X hours of daylight, no matter what you call a particular hour.

I wouldn't care if we stuck to GMT or BST as long as we can stop fucking about with clocks. It upsets animals and it upsets us.

Those who need the light can adjust their working hours without involving the rest of us. For example, offices in Scotland could work 10-6 if they wished.
 
The badgers are usually good at going with the time change , they get up as soon as it gets dark the same , they might be early tonite but i will feed them at the new time

I’d rather they go forward an extra hour happy to be at work in the dark want light evenings to play tennis and have a beer etc etc

Things decay because of time..

Among physicists, there is no real doubt that time does really, truly exist. It's a measurable, observable phenomenon. Physicists are just divided a bit on what causes this existence, and what it means to say that it exists. Indeed, this question borders the realm of metaphysics and ontology (the philosophy of existence) as much as it does on the strictly empirical questions about time that physics is well-equipped to address.
 
I remember I used to hate this time of year in England I used to get depressed in October when the clocks went back and I started thinking about the dreary months ahead, cold and dark.
It's probably the main reason I ended up living in a sunny warm climate.
I remember thinking we're only here for 70 or 80 years if we're lucky so why live in the cold.

Although I always also believed that the UK was very badly run on a local and national level.
That was probably another reason.

England will always be home though, even if I never go there again.

Winter is what makes the spring so special, I wouldnt want it any other way.
(which is lucky because I couldnt afford to move abroad anyway)

but i have several things to say in response to your post,

thirdly,
this may come as a surprise,
but not everything you read on the internet is true.

fourthly,
i was trained as a theoretical physicist,
which in theory (geddit) makes me a physicist that disagrees.
so your statement that "among physicists there is no real doubt that time does truly exist" is incorrect.

fifthly,
to many practicing physicists time is not fundamentally real.
we may feel like we experience it as real, there is no proof it is.
(if you don't believe me use your google search and you will see.)

sixthly,
this "arrow of time" theory oft used is a paradox,
and ultimately an illusion.
granted, a very powerful one.

seventhly,
einstein proved that, on its own, time isn't absolute.
time doesn't exist unless it is entwined with space.
i am certainly not saying space time doesn't exist,
but time on its own is a highly improbable solution.
it is a way for us to try to understand what is going on.
but it has flaws that cannot be overcome.

Did the one in the car, the one in the lounge and the one next to the bed but refuse to learn how to do the one on the cooker ............ when I put a chicken in the oven on Sunday it neither knows or carse if its BST its fucking DEAD
