4-1-4-1, which is what it looks like to me, is quite defensive. I guess we'll see a few more systems tried out as the game progresses. Personally I'd like to see Ireland on playing infront of Barry and Yaya.

Disagree - it's just 451 in another guise; a system which most teams use these days. The personnel generally dictates the level of creativity the system offers. When we are playing the ball we have Barry, Yaya, Adebayor, Bridge, Richards, Johnson and SWP in their half. That's not negative. Now swap Micah with Boateng, Bridge with Kolarov, SWP with Silva and Ireland or Tevez with Barry and you have a lethal setup with exactly the same system.

Perhaps, I just find that the out and out holding role that Kompany is playing, against most teams, is a bit unnecessary. I'd prefer a designated attacking player amongst the middle 3 to push higher up and support Ade.
