To have the designs finished so quickly is extremely fast.

As blueparrot said, Geekingav was knocking them out on request. This isn't a hard thing to do and the graphics companies that this will be tendered to will have their finger on the pulse.

I agree that City probably tried to predict the results of the consultation probably before it even started, but to think they wouldn't listen to the fans is stupid, they're not idiots they wouldn't even consult if they'd already decided on a badge, they probably had a lot of various designs ready to go pending the result of the consultation.

I'm looking forward to it.

It's very easy to collect data from digital surveys, it's done in real-time. As soon as the consultation ended they could have automatically had bar charts and pie charts generated based on responses. If your just talking about the comments - I doubt anyone could be arsed reading them!

But like you say, they've already put a timeframe on a new design so they must have already been at it with the designs - I think it's only natural they would have mocked some up anyway to see what a new badge might look like before consulting fans.

Yeah this is what I was referring to, and I hope someone read them as I wrote a small essay for mine!!!

I would be surprised if they haven't been working on new badge designs for the last 4 years imo. They probably narrowed it down to 2 or 3 round ones, and 2 or 3 non round ones 6 months ago, then started organizing the polls a couple months ago. Nobody creates a bade like this in a few weeks.

Why not have multiple designs and gauge popularity and reaction to them as opposed to just rolling out the one?

It's one thing to think of what you'd like it to look like and another to actually see it. Shirley it wouldn't be much of a hassle to knock up say 3 popular notions of the new badge and see how people like the look of them? It won't be used until next season anyway so there's no rush.

My update says that the throttled eagle will live on! Fortunately only in the hearts of our supporters and not on the club badge. I look forward to a gracious acceptance of the new design on this thread.
