Honestly, if they do it right, I would like the eagle incorporated. History is built over time and quite a bit of the very memorable aspects of ours where created under that eagle. To get rid just because it was not part of our earlier badges is silly in my view.

I want the badge to be representative of far and recent past, as well as our club's glorious future.

The stars, on the other hand, can go. ;-)

I'm sure the club are mindful of the PR catastrophe that Everton went through with their badge the other season, so I'd be very surprised if they took the risk of forcing the eagle in to the round badge.

The eagle squashed inside a circle is popular with 3 or 4 posters on Bluemoon, but extremely unpopular with dozens of other posters. It would be a huge gamble if the club went down that route.

The shield, ship and rivers is easily the most popular design, and doesn't generate anywhere near the same negative reaction as the squashed eagle, so I'd hope the club will play it safe and reflect the majority view.

My update says that the throttled eagle will live on! Fortunately only in the hearts of our supporters and not on the club badge. I look forward to a gracious acceptance of the new design on this thread.

Eh? I'm not moaning, I'm laughing. I'm pleased we are changing the badge and I'm pleased the club have got a bit of PR amongst the fans.
