I'm getting a little hopeful reading all the 'this might not be the actual one' posts....have we completely given up on two dogs having sex in the centre of the badge?

Could be a PR stunt in line with the IP office to release a few and build up the interest.
Then on the 26th...BAM!! An actually awesome new badge is revealed.
It's definitely not a PR stunt. The leaked badge is the new badge.

Also by asking fans and trying to fit it all in doesn't help. If 50% want blue and 50% want yellow don't add both. No one wanted green.
what do you want them to do then not ask the fans ??

The more I look at it the more I dislike it.
Really think they should've come up with a few and given us a vote on the final one.
To me it seems like they've had this up their sleeve for a while, and the 'survey' was just a token gesture enabling them to say they consulted us
For this crest to already being trademarked a matter of weeks after the consultation tells its own story.

You're just a particularly vocal person that doesn't and you assume (wrongly) that you're in the majority.
Jesus, you calling me a "particularly vocal person"' is like Manuel Pellegrini calling another manager tactically inept, you really have no room to talk!
I said in my post I was surprised by just how many people were positive about it. I probably wouldn't go as far as to say a majority like it, but from the posts I've read there is a fairly even split between those that like it and those who don't.
I've not seen anyone complain about about the elements included, the overwhelming majority are delighted to be going to a round badge, shield, boat, rose / rivers. I'd say there are two main camps, those that say "I like it, it's better than the eagle" and those with an eye for design who think it looks a bit Fisher Price.

Shame. A clever PR stunt was made for this type of reveal (more so than the posters around town).
Our in house marketing team needs freshening up or a new creative agency to support it IMO.

You know what the main problem is... It looks WEAK... it looks 'wishy-washy' – I'm not a fan of the Melbourne badge either, but the New York badge is great... it looks bold!
For fuck's sake City... only we could fuck this up!
the new york badge looks shit imo, its the same design with 3 letters randomly placed over each over. what exactly did you want ??
