Club Badge (merged)

The more I look at it the more I dislike it.

Really think they should've come up with a few and given us a vote on the final one.

To me it seems like they've had this up their sleeve for a while, and the 'survey' was just a token gesture enabling them to say they consulted us

For this crest to already being trademarked a matter of weeks after the consultation tells its own story.

Jesus, you calling me a "particularly vocal person"' is like Manuel Pellegrini calling another manager tactically inept, you really have no room to talk!

I said in my post I was surprised by just how many people were positive about it. I probably wouldn't go as far as to say a majority like it, but from the posts I've read there is a fairly even split between those that like it and those who don't.

I've not seen anyone complain about about the elements included, the overwhelming majority are delighted to be going to a round badge, shield, boat, rose / rivers. I'd say there are two main camps, those that say "I like it, it's better than the eagle" and those with an eye for design who think it looks a bit Fisher Price.

Shame. A clever PR stunt was made for this type of reveal (more so than the posters around town).

Our in house marketing team needs freshening up or a new creative agency to support it IMO.

the new york badge looks shit imo, its the same design with 3 letters randomly placed over each over. what exactly did you want ??
 
the more i see it the more I like it, it looks like a city badge and represents our club a lot better. a modern update of our old badge.

The eagle badge had many faults, especially the stars. It was difficult for Nike to produce on clothing, although Umbro never seemed to have any problem. But the eagle badge was unique in English football and in my opinion looked powerful and classy ( stars apart)

so the red rose isn't relevant to manchester or the ship ( clearly they both are ), but a random eagle is alright because it looks powerful ?? that makes no sense. what did you want a picture of the arndale in the middle
 
I quite like how in just saying 'Manchester City', and dropping football club, it looks more prominent against the other CFG group badges.

All said and done though, it's a badge. Looks nice enough, simple, and it will go well on a kit.

Exactly. The rivers AND rose is a fudge. Should have been one or the other.

I could live with that though if it didn't look like it had been drawn by one of the animators on Loony Toons.

seeing most of the thread it sounds like you didn't like the badge before it was even revealed. in what way does it look like a loony toons badge ? they've included most of the elements city fans wanted

Not on a wind up but that is what I have been told. Wouldn't surprise me as I'm personally VERY surprised that the club would let the badge leak this way, it's very amateurish and our club are normally the height of professionalism. We will see..

I fully believed it to be the real new badge before I was told this.
