He’s struggling when he’s isolated out wide with the ball at his feet, he just doesn’t really know quite what to do. Showed with those chances he created how much more comfortable he is play a bit deeper and more central.Grealish made three superb passes tonight. He's not struggling.

Some serious bad blood between Sterling and Guardiola - difficult to judge who was the most pissed off after Sterling’s goal.

Gundogan has been coming back from injury. Our rythmn is usually much better with him than without himWe've seen Phil struggle with pacy fullbacks and that's all AWB is. The only place I want Phil is in the middle of the park. Gundo shouldn't be starting over him right now.
Yeah. I would drop KDB as his current form does not warrant a starting place, so it would be between Gundo and Cancelo for that mid role. Have added to my post as I would also try Cancelo wide right of the front 3 if Jesus is being rested or playing #9.Who doesn't play if you do though. We have too many midfielders and not enough places in fairness. He's certainly no left back
Mid 3 of Silva/Rodri/Cancelo (KDB and Gundo miss out) or attaching front 3 of Foden/Jesus/Cancelo (Jack, Mahrez and Sterling miss out).

See my other post. Sterling on the right. Foden takes back that role on the left he lost to Grealish, Jesus False 9. Last season’s team restored.Sterling only on the right though. Wan bissaka has had sterling in his pocket every time.

Just watching the goals back and they were all really good quality. The build up play for Sterling's goal was really good.

nothing. Just a bit of imagination by some fans about what Sterling was thinking. Not sure how they know though :)
Zinchenko was our starting LB the whole way in what would have been the best CL campaign of all time if we don't lose to Chelsea btw. We conceded 4 goals the entire way to the final vs the 6 we already have -and he was absolutely a big part of that success we had. How quickly people forget what he's done for this club despite earning less than almost everyone.Zinchenko before cancello your having a naught zinc is like a rabbit in headlights. Never takes a man on poor tackled and wastes cross balls

Cancelo was good, despite some of the comments in the match thread, he kept trying to make stuff happen at least. Thought he did really well.
Sterling pretty decent too when he came on. Very impressive from Palmer too, and Jesus worked hard as usual. Should have scored sooner than he did, when Mignolet saved with his feet, but great finish in the last minute.
Disappointing from Grealish tonight but he was playing out of position, he’s so much better central in my opinion. Needs to influence games more, but I’m sure he’ll come good.

On a number of occasions I’ve watched gundog and thought that he has not had a great game, then you see his stats and realise it’s true impact! Very oddGundogan has been coming back from injury. Our rythmn is usually much better with him than without him

We seemed to get into the same old rut half way through the first half and usually we carry it on into the second, but tonight we managed to get ourselves out of it and finished on a high.
Managed to rest a few legs through wise game management too, hopefully it'll pay dividends in the derby.

Out of all the positions we have on the pitch I'd say LB with those two competing is the very definition of horses for courses.Zinchenko was our starting LB the whole way in what would have been the best CL campaign of all time if we don't lose to Chelsea btw. There are games where I'd keep Cancelo as far away from the pitch as possible and vice versa.
They will both contribute before the season ends.

Zinchenko is out, period, due to balance of having Laporte start. He’s a cracking little find which pep has evolved, turning an unconventional player into a high performer when needed... this is the genius of the guy we have at the helm and (spits) what pisscan was lauded for, turning average into good, and good into exceptional...Zinchenko was our starting LB the whole way in what would have been the best CL campaign of all time if we don't lose to Chelsea btw. We conceded 4 goals the entire way to the final vs the 6 we already have -and he was absolutely a big part of that success we had.
Zin is no long term solution but a stalwart and someone we rely on!
