Club Statement (Mancini sacked) (Cont)

Re: Club Statement (confirmed that Mancini sacked)

Could anyone summarize the strengths of Pellegrini for me please?

I'm struggling to find any reasons or evidence for him over Bobby.

And if it is true that we are now interested in someone else over Pellegrini then its likely to be Klopp as he was top of the list once Pep took himself off it. Pellegrini was the back up plan.

But it will in my opinion be Pellegrini.

So player power saw the end of him. Is this what Vinny meant when he spoke of the players being together?

-- Tue May 14, 2013 11:16 am --

A Chilean version of David Moyes is probably a very harsh assessment of him, but there you go.

Possibly, and the bonus of that is that the players will feel a new sense of enthusiasm about playing. The risk is appointing someone who deflates that enthusiasm. The right appointment could trigger a season like we've never seen, but it could go horribly wrong too. I can't stop thinking about it to be honest.

Ok, I know how BM works, and I know the ridicule I'm going to get for putting this.

But this is what I've been told this morning:

Pellegrini has an agreement with MCFC to become new manager and has done since last week.

There has been a late move, not by us, but by another manager who is interesting in joining us, and the board are interested in him.

Pellegrini is aware of this, and has no objections - he is also in contact with Barcelona.

I have no reason to lie, so just thought I'd put out there what i've told.

This seems entirely plausible. If I was an ambitious manager and the City job suddenly became available I would email my CV, so to speak.

So are you claiming Villanova believes he may be out of a job and has put his name forward. Doubt that somehow...

As Stuart Brennan stated in MEN any contact with Pellegrini did not essentially mean a deal was agreed.

Just asked a journalist about this and confirmed that Barcelona definitely interested in Pellegrini. Certainly gave the impression its still more likely than Vilanova coming here though...

there is quite a large piece of reason and evidence which is the club did not want mancini anymore

The bookies odds seem to be shifting. Pellergrini was at 12/1 on with most of them yesterday. Now some of them have him at 3/1 on. Mourinho has gone from 16/1 against to 3/1 against.

Re: Club Statement (confirmed that Mancini sacked)

I don't understand where all this Pellegrini to Barca is coming from? Has anyone read any article that suggests Tito is leaving? He apparently came out yesterday and said he wanted to stay at Barca didn't he? Well that was the latest from Spain which I heard last night. Can anyone shed any light on it?

I'd love Mou but there's no way our CEO would hire him. He turned him down at Barca and stated his reason being the conflict he causes behind the scenes. That's obviously why we have sacked Mancini.
