Club World Cup - Summer 2025

I won’t
Seems like you’re being awkward just for the pure hell of it. I don’t agree with the number of games being played in football but it’s a competitive tournament with some of the best teams in Europe and teams we’ll never have the chance to play against. I’m well up for it. If you’re not then fair enough, just think we should be celebrating the fact we’re participating and other English clubs aren’t.

Oh yeah I’m always saying to the lads down the pub how amazing it would be to play against Memelodi Sundowns, Al Hilal and the Urawa Red Diamonds.

FIFA now offering ‘right to buy’ tickets for World Cup Finals group games when you buy CWC tickets.

I bet there’s some small print to the offer - for example on only the most expensive tickets.

That’s desperation to shift tickets on their part.

$499 for

2 x Cat 1 tickets for two CWC group games.

And a right to buy 2 x Cat 1 tickets for a World Cup Finals group game.

I will be watching the games and thank you for informing me about some of the competition, are they the ones we are playing ?

At the moment, I don’t give a damn, would much rather players get back to full fitness for next season, and any new signings get established in late August/ September. Of course my opinion might be different if we get through the first stages of the competition

Just in case anyone has not seen the financial figures …

“Chelsea and City will receive $38.19m before tax and expenses just for turning up, and clubs will get $2m for each group-stage win, $7.5m for reaching the last 16, $13.1m for reaching the quarter-finals, $21m for getting to the semi-finals and $40m for winning the final, with $30m for the runner-up.”

So +/- $125m as a max to the winner.

So lets get this correct the CWC is being held in the USA and the next World Cup is also mainly held there?

So which nation stands the best chance of getting World Cup group game tickets?

Corruption at it’s finest.

The way the USA is going, and how its viewed by those overseas, I doubt many people will want to travel there by then anyway.

Just checked the match my lad is going to $71 for a seat miles from the pitch.

Has anyone mentioned …. you can drink beer while in your seat ! AND, in the case of Atlanta there are micro brewery options other than the usual American flavored water type beer.

In fact, for those in the cheap seats at Atlanta(“miles from the pitch”) there are open plan bars that you can drink at, on the 2nd level, with great views of the pitch (first come first served)

Surely this is reason alone to support this tournament [emoji23]

I went to Yankee stadium a couple of years ago back the have cup holders in your seats for your beer. There were restaurants all over the ground yoi could dive into to eat and the concessions were vast to go and get a beer. Can’t help but thinking it’s set up this way in American sports stadia because the actual sports they play are so boring you have to distract yourself from it by getting blind drunk during.

Plus it might help to calm tbe nerves of Blues that are scared to go to the US cos Trumps in charge. ;)

Anyone bigging up this nothing competition is a lunatic.

None of broadcasters wanted to pay any money to show it, DAZN were gifted $1bn dollars by Saudi Arabia to pay FIFA for broadcasting rights and oh guess what, a week later the 2034 World Cup was awarded to Saudi Arabia.

It’s all bent as fuck, it means nothing, half the teams in it wouldn’t get out of the championship.

The extra football will ruin us next season, we’re not even playing in sky blue, it’s in fucking America, it’s not on free TV and the tickets cost about 5 grand.

Who gives a fuck.
The FA had a similar opinion when we refused an invite to the first World Cup and told clubs not to compete in the European cup at first.

Great decision in hindsight…

I do agree about not playing in blue and the impact on our season but in 30 years this could we be the biggest competition of the lot (if FIFA get their way). Does England playing the likes of Panama devalue the World Cup?

Not only can you drink but they will bring it to you selling it in the aisles…..
Only thing is you have to annoy the fuck out of everyone in your row who are trying to watch the game as they all pass down your ID and money to the seller and then pass back your ID and change!

I went to a game at Orlando City and they had a whole row of 20 plus beers to select from including 7 different IPA’s.
However, be warned, they aren’t sold at Weatherspoons prices……
