Think away strips started more regularly from 1950 and were maroon with white pinstripes, so yes our ‘traditional‘ combination. That said, there’s Pathe news footage of us losing in the Cup at the Den in 1937, where we appear to be wearing white shirts and black shorts, and I’ve also seen footage of us at Tottenham in the early 1960s, I think, where we are wearing yellow. It wasn’t luminous yellow mind…Despite the tory Scouse initially playing in Blue and White halved shirts...
Two of our first three FA Cups were won wearing maroon shirts and white shorts, iirc it was only Malcolm Allison who brought in the red and black stripes
