Cocaine

It might not even be in my top five favourite drugs but find it makes a big difference if you’re going on a good 12-24 hour bender.

Keeps you going and stops you acting like a slobbering, heavy, slow drunkered as alcohol drags you right down. Keeps you alert and keeps the conversation going instead of slurring away pissed up.

It’s blamed too much for people “acting like a dick heads thinking they’re then men”. Because miraculously you’ll find that people who act like that are actually just dick heads and think they’re ten men in every day life.

It’s not the drug it’s the person.

Did it once, out of intrigue. Didn’t do anything for me at all. Suppose it could have been shit stuff I had. Won’t bother again

You’re wrong, and missing out!

Psychedelic drugs have formed me as a person as much as any other person, job or educational establishment has in all the hours and hours and hours I’ve spent at school and work in my life.
Haven't done psychedelics (or any drugs now that I think about it) for years but BOY did they make me a better person for it.

Yeah I think a lot of people are misinformed about drugs. It's telling that a pioneering researcher like David Nutt got booted by the government for telling it how it is with ecstasy. It's like somebody doesn't want people to know the truth.

It's often ironic to me that people praise alcohol so highly given it's so easy to abuse, addictive and can really make you feel bad the next day. Plus a load of other stuff. You could argue it's ok in moderation, but so is a lot of stuff, like weed for example.

Anyway, with cocaine you should restrict it to the bedroom, and make sure your partner is in on it too if you have to use it. You'll have a blast. Almost any other environment and you're risking trouble, if what I've witnessed and experienced in my younger years was also anything to go by. Mix it with booze and piss off your liver too whilst you're at it. FWIW the purer stuff isn't as physically stimulating, but far more powerful as a psychoactive. It's not a drug I'd ever recommend though. Any form of cocaine that is.

There is a massive problem though in the UK especially with cocaine. It's not surprising that most people really suffering are employed (or studying) in super fast environments for unreasonably long hours. We can thank 80's culture and media (and The Wolf of Wall Street) for kickstarting this. As always, I expect the blame to be directed at the users and the suppliers though (just like the article in the OP somewhat did), because there's no way the mass media would be brave enough to challenge the system set out by businesses that leads people down these paths.

It's like when Gordon Ramsay did that programme and he discovered a bunch of his employees were on the stuff. I know he had only the best intentions but there's no way he thought to maybe change his work environment to reduce stress and physical pressures associated with that line of work.

I agree with that but I have to say as an ex raver who has enjoyed myself in the past I just don't get the need to sniff the stuff at City - if you go on European trips or even away trips in the UK a lot of blues are on coke watching the match - I don't get it !!
