Cockney blues

I was in the London Blues from 1979 - 82 why because I traveled from Germany to Ostand to Dover to Kings Cross where I joined the London Blues on the 10:10 train to Manchester and then returned to Germany after the game. In 1981-82 I missed 4 home games all night matches. £7 return from London, now I travel from Yorkshire to ever game, I would love to be able to be home 20 mins after the final whistle. Don't knock fans you think might be on the band wagon some have traveled more miles than most ever will just to get to home games.

I wasn't having a dig at you, or indeed any genuine fans who travel huge distances to support their team. I was born in Manchester, lived the bulk of my life in Manchester, and have always been able to get to City games within a reasonable amount of time, so fans like yourself have my complete respect.

I was having a go at the London based Rags , who " support " their team ( f*ck knows why when there are decent and successful PL teams in London ? ) for the simple reason that they are
" gloryhunting and brainless " lemmings, whilst Jazzman was trying to be totally pc ( I think ) and ignoring the fact that I had specifically identified the Rag " supporting imposters ".

No offence intended to you my friend .

Not taken mate, I lived on Wansford Street opp the ticket office, moved to Stalybridge then Joined the RAF in 1977 and never let that stop me supporting the Blues and still have my SC as do my 3 grown up kids who have been dragged to the night matches v Crewe etc, I agree we have the hanger one every club does if I hadn't started following football I would be worth millions lol I even took the wife tonSpain on honeymoon in 1982 for the WC finals and yes we are still married.

In terms of the "argument" you are a better fan than us that live "close" by because that takes some commitment. That's some effort, especially with the fare being served up at the time I'm not sure many fans would be loyal enough to do that.

To be honest mate there are some fans can tell a story from the dark days of the 70s and 80s when a WBA fan Nate of mine took the piss you knew it was bad but they could never understand why over 30k kept turning up in div 2. I laugh when I hear fans moan now, forget York away!!! The real fans were at Chelsea when we played Norwich in the cup replay now that was a long track
