Cold Callers - New Legislation

Will this also apply to the vermin chuggers in town?

Not often do I tell complete strangers to fuck off, though the beardy student wanker last week telling me to "ooooh, no problem, have a nice day, darling" at my usual firm, sturdy "no thanks" was an exception...

Must have made you feel really awesome that.

He did call him "darling". I'm all for informality but it's also unprofessional. These people aren't supposed to block your path, make physical contact or follow you down the street. I've seen them doing all three in recent months. Only someone with no self awareness mustn't know that stopping someone as they're going about their business isn't always suitable.

Imagine if he was late for an appointment or something. He hasn't got two minutes to talk about the starving in Africa.

rubbish
It only controls those in the UK

even so I got some twat calling me tonight about double glazing.
Utter shit.
If it was anything to do with that screeching scraggly, walking abortion in the long ridiculous sparkly coat in the adverts, I'd tell them to send him round so that I can practice with my new Baseball bat.

I now make a point of noting the name of any charity that employs chuggers in Macc and never give them a penny again.

cold callers are utter scumbags. Foxy you have clearly not suffered the barrage of cold calls that many people get all the time or you are in the business yourself. It should be a criminal offence to cold call a private householder on any business matter. These trespassing morons are a cancer. If I want to know about a business I'll approach them, until they can they just fu ck off. We don't have the time to be continually telling these cu nts we don't want their shite.

This proposed legislation will be total ineffective however as the twats are based abroad largely to get round UK law.

Trespassing is exactly what it is. They should be dry-bummed. Also agree it will be difficult to stop.

Same goes for e-mails from people who change g-mail address on every occasion. I don't know how to stop these and am not even sure it's possible.

You can block emails from anybody who isn't an approved contact although I know that it might not suit you to do so.

It's not enough. They should ban all cold calls and junk mail too.

I enjoy the fuckers calling round to the door, especially if it's fucking miserable outside. I kept the Sky lad there for a good hour in the rain on Monday before telling him to fuck off or I'd set the dogs on him.

I bet you felt really good about that, well done you. Just somebody trying to earn a living. Christ!

Yep, by illegally cold calling to somebody's house uninvited after 9pm, whilst being too thick to notice the Sky dish. My door, my garden, my house, if they want to ignore the 'we do not want cold callers, salesmen, or political campaigners/canvassers' sign on the gate and invite themselves onto my property, then don't listen the first time I tell them I'm not interested it's nobody's fault but their own and I'm well within my rights to wind the cunts up. I know they're trying to earn a living, I've worked in shit jobs myself in the past, but if they're that thick and obtuse they deserve it.

I've no problem with the lads on the street mind, they can do whatever the fuck they like on a public footpath as long as it's within the bounds of common decency imo.

I can't see why people are so bothered by cold callers.

Caller display came in years ago making it easy to avoid answering calls from numbers I don't recognise.

Some people are so excited when their phone rings they just can't help but answer. That's their own fault.
