Coldplay Roll Call..

Don't worry lads - first survivor made it back to his gaff in Gorton and currently sat on the old Thomas Crapper.

Great gig as always with Coldplay but the sound was a bit muffled early doors.

As for the flashing wristbands, well we got there quite late and none were left. Luckily, we had 5 of them from earlier gigs. Shame the fuckers didn't work though - perhaps we should've flogged them just before the band came on as we were being offered a fiver for each one lol.

Well I went last night and having travelled down with minimal or even low expectations (probably not helped by having read this thread first) I have to say they were absolutely brilliant.
Let the accusations of homosexuality commence.
Oh one more thing. £4 for a pint of Fosters. Not sure if that's just concert prices or a pre warning for next season.

So a few forumites saying they are shit spoiled your expectations?
I would have thought listening to their back catalogue did that, without any help from us lot.
Listening to Coldplay on a cold, wet night whilst drinking overpriced and awful lager?
Surely hell has no fears for anyone who lived through such an ordeal.
I hope Trevor brought his lube and removed his extensive collection of sovereign rings prior to fisting, and that Father Flaherty had not been eating asparagus before the watersports.
Julio sends his best regards, and reckons that unseemly rash of his is thrush rather than full blown Aids.

Concert prices mate - whichever company was in charge of organising that gig last night would've set the prices, not City. I saw the Foo Fighters there in 2008 and IIRC it was even worse as they were charging £4 for a 330ml bottle of Fosters, never mind a pint.

Beer prices at football matches are bad enough - at gigs they're even more of a rip-off!

Ha ha!

Seriously, listening to Coldplay's studio albums is no guide as to how they sound live - they're one of those bands that sound better live than on the albums themselves. It's a popular misconception that they are dull/boring/depressing when performing live - they're the exact opposite. A Coldplay gig is a real show in itself - akin to watching paint dry it most certainly isn't, despite the impression some of their songs give. What may sound boring on an album comes to life when they perform it live.

On the flip side to that, I'm going to see The Stone Roses in a few weeks and I've heard numerous accounts that they're awful live. Their debut album remains one of my all-time favourite records but it seems that they're not capable of replicating those high standards at a live gig. I hope that isn't the case of course but we'll have to wait and see.

Very much this!

Anway, after watching them last night, I've decided it's all the latent homosexuals on here who are constantly deriding them on here without even having seen them who are really gay.

Well that was absolutely stunning.

Wasn't even a gig, it was a show.

Incredible scenes, never fail to impress ever.

How amazing would it be if City got white/blue wristbands like what Coldplay use?, imagine that image for a night game? wow.

...and OMG it was just full of scousers everywhere.
