Really enjoyed it last night, a lot more than expected tbh. A lot of the tunes I find too syrupy were much better in a live singalong- although it should always be "live" in Coldplay's case considering how much of their sound isn't actually live. Amazed to see it kicking off near me on the pitch last night - Coldplay aggro shocker.

Regardless of the tunes it was the best stadium show Ive seen in terms of involving the audience. It'll be interesting to compare it to Springsteen - although he'll probably play twice long but I won't be expecting much of a show.
Rita Ora dire, but enjoyed Robyn.

Rita Ora might be dire but she wasn't on last night.

Just shows how musical tastes differ. I thought Robyn was dreadful and went and queued up for a beer instead.

Who was that first on first then mate, about 7.15?!
I'd checked Coldplay's website & I'm sure it said she was the other support act for these dates. Whoever it was, she got zero crowd response (until she said it was her last song)

She was called Charlie XCX or something. Think Rita Ora is on tonight though.

I presume it kicked off when security refused to allow people to leave.
You like Coldplay, but 'won't be expecting much of a show' from Springsteen?
Are you being serious here?
Springsteen has more talent in his earwax than Coldplay could ever match on their best day on this planet.
And he is not gay either.

I thought he caught AIDS in that Philadelphia film? Oh wait, that was Tom Hanks - Springsteen just sang the title track didn't he?

I like Nijinsky, and I like Mad Eyed Screamer.... I was starting to side with MES in their handbag battle on another thread, but Nijinsky has soared to another level with this spot-on post.

The only reason any music lover would buy a Coldplay ticket would be to sell it on to some twee muso or their fag-hag at a profit. Coldplay are even an insult to coffee table music. They don't deserve to be thought of being included in the same sentence as Springsteen.

Coldplay are crap.

I'm a much bigger fan of Bruce than Coldplay and have seen him plenty of times since Roundhay Park in 85 so I don't need reminding how good he is. But after seeing Coldplay then do put on a better "show" than he ever has. He basically just gets up there & rocks; he's brilliant. Anyone who has seen this Coldplay tour would know that they give so much more than the tunes; 5 vid screens; interesting editing rather than static shots of the band; fireworks; lasers; paper butterflies over the crowd; luminous inflatables; 3 stages in diff parts of the arena; lighted wristbands all around the venue; loads of inflatable balls bouncing around over the audience - oh yeah & a ton of great singalong tunes

Went last night and have to agree the show they put on was amazing. A mate of mine came along his girlfriend bought him a ticket he didn't like them but he said its the best concert by far he's been to and he's been loads.

That sounds gayer than Louis Spence's jazz hands. Paper butterflies?

Actually, now I think about it, y'know they may have been hearts actually.

I think it's fair to say that the evidence is stacking up against the Coldplay haters on this thread. They daren't admit it of course but perhaps it's beginning to dawn on them that they might be a good turn after all.

My youngest and her mate got 2 free tickets, dropped them off earlier today. Don't think my youngest could name a single song by them but I just know she's gonna come home and for the next month be playing Coldplay songs all day and night.
