I'm a much bigger fan of Bruce than Coldplay and have seen him plenty of times since Roundhay Park in 85 so I don't need reminding how good he is. But after seeing Coldplay then do put on a better "show" than he ever has. He basically just gets up there & rocks;xhe's brilliant. Anyone who has seen this Coldplay tour would know that they give so much more than the tunes; 5 vid screens; interesting editing rather than static shots of the band; fireworks; lasers; paper butterflies over the crowd; luminous inflatables; 3 stages in diff parts of the arena; lighted wristbands all around the venue; loads of inflatable balls bouncing around over the audience - oh yeah & a ton of great singalong tunes

Went last night and have to agree the show they put on was amazing. A mate of mine came along his girlfriend bought him a ticket he didn't like them but he said its the best concert by far he's been to and he's been loads.

I think it's fair to say that the evidence is stacking up against the Coldplay haters on this thread. They daren't admit it of course but perhaps it's beginning to dawn on them that they might be a good turn after all.

My youngest and her mate got 2 free tickets, dropped them off earlier today. Don't think my youngest could name a single song by them but I just know she's gonna come home and for the next month be playing Coldplay songs all day and night.

I assume you're on the new Rush album tomorrow mate? Issued with Classic Rock magazine

I presume it kicked off when security refused to allow people to leave.
You like Coldplay, but 'won't be expecting much of a show' from Springsteen?
Are you being serious here?
Springsteen has more talent in his earwax than Coldplay could ever match on their best day on this planet.
And he is not gay either.

I like Nijinsky, and I like Mad Eyed Screamer.... I was starting to side with MES in their handbag battle on another thread, but Nijinsky has soared to another level with this spot-on post.

The only reason any music lover would buy a Coldplay ticket would be to sell it on to some twee muso or their fag-hag at a profit. Coldplay are even an insult to coffee table music. They don't deserve to be thought of being included in the same sentence as Springsteen.

Coldplay are crap.

It's obviously an alien concept to some that it's possible to like both Springsteen AND Coldplay but as I said it's perfectly possible to like both.

I went to see Maximo Park at the Sound Control in town on Thursday night. I was near the front - it was an awesome gig in a small venue and I was sweating like a **** by the end. Fast forward 2 days to Coldplay last night and another awesome gig. The contrast between the two concerts in terms of the size of venue, genre of music, etc, couldn't be more different but they were both brilliant gigs in their own right.

Oh Yes although until I see it in my hands I still won't believe Rush are being popularised in this way. I'm just too used to them being ignored.

Chuck Norris would knock the fuck out of the gayness in this thread.

That reminds me, I remember seeing Queen at Maine Road in 86. Great gig, although apparently the lead singer was gay

Yeah but he wasn't as gay as coldplay fans. He was a blokey gay.

Yeah. It's a shame in a way it's come to this, but it's a sign of the way albums are going these days - maybe the next one'll only be available via Starbucks, or McDonalds ;)
Still apparently it's a 100page plus magazine of new interviews & reviews of the back catalogue so that should take a bit of ink.

-- Sun Jun 10, 2012 8:19 pm --

LOL. There's no arguing with logic like that
