Cole Palmer

Yeah he’s probably thinking if I’m this good when I play, why do I only play every 3 months?

Honestly I know you’ve dug yourself a hole here, but if your reaction to Bobb’s performance tonight is not “he needs to play a lot more” then I don’t know what’s wrong with you.
Hmm. Not sure, he is only just 20. Pep appears not keen on too many minutes for younger players, see Foden.

Cole Palmer is a rag, who wanted to leave. He will end up at United in a couple of seasons.
Palmer joined us as an 8 year old kid and worked hard enough to work his way up through the academy teams to first team. I don't think him liking United should have any bearing on his time at City. I don't understand blues who castigate him a rag for wearing a United shirt as a toddler, he liked Rooney, so what, i liked George Best as a youngster because he was exciting to watch and a great player as was Rooney, although i never got excited watching Rooney, tbf; )

Every 3 months? Hmmm...

Perhaps he's thinking I'm being trusted more and more by the manager and he's just brought me on as a difference maker for the best team in the world? Where did I say either way on his minutes BTW? What's wrong with me indeed. Perhaps you need to stop digging yourself, and try supporting the team and the youngsters both.

He is on fire in a clueless Chelsea team, reaping the rewards... Nothing else.
Indeed. There was no guarantee that he could do similar in the current City team. Quite possibly Pep felt that, as good as he is, he wasn't a fit for the system. We received good money and spent it on Doku, who gives a completely different option. It's difficult to argue with Pep's judgement on players, underlined by the 5 trophies on display today. Good luck to the lad, but life goes on.

This Chelsea team and squad is very definitely in transition. Their performance against us was very good but they've also been shit a lot of times. But this kid is fast becoming the main man at a young age in a major PL team and seems to have handled a big move well.
I think he's got a similar "football arrogance" to Phil and I was in the pub for his second which was a great goal.
I've always thought the lad was a talent and very pleased he's doing well. Seems a bit petty to be calling him a rag or thick

He's a B+ player.

Looks fantastic in an out of sorts Chelsea side that's built around him.

He struggled in the limited space we had against opponents.

A move that worked for everyone. When he's tearing up trees for a title challenging side, I'll re-assess.

Thing is when a player wants to play - particularly a junior player - and someone offers the club and him decent money so he wants to go and we are compensated for our input into him over the years then let them go rather that sulk at City. Even before Pep came I was always of the same mind as him if a player doesn't want to be there for whatever reason let them go on the best possible terms you can get rather than have someone moping about the changing room. Always the best way. Cole is no different to all the other academy products we have let go and I wish them all a good career in the game.
