Cole Palmer

Cole has put himself in the shop window. Pep’s quotes sound like he is going.

I think that depends on how you interpret what Pep was trying to say.

It could also be interpreted that Pep values him as a real first team player now and he wouldn't loan out our other first team players (unless it's a Cancelo situaton).

So maybe he's just saying he's not a player we would loan out now and he's beyond that.

Pep doesn't really talk about players being sold. So I think it was more a flippant response in the sense he will be at the club unless he ever gets sold, but he's not going to be loaned out.

Pep said he wants to go since he was manager. Not sure you can read that any other way.

I took it as the pre-Super Cup, not since Pep was manager. However I agree that it sounds like Cole wants to leave. Maybe playing and getting a goal in the match changes that?

Pep has played him in two games and started him in game while leaving a WC winner on the bench. I do not know how much more faith a manager can have in a player. He is good but so was Sancho his best career is here if he decides otherwise let him go and trust the manager!

There is so much to read between Pep's lines always, second/third/fourth language? I am thinking he's saying Palmer, before the game in Athens, was looking for more game time and may want to leave to get it. He also thinks the game may have changed his mind.

Let's face it. Guardiola can only play him, the rest is up to what Palmer wants.

I hope he wants to stay. He did everything Mahrez would have done in that game, I think, and even scored with a header, telling Haaland to get out of the way. He deserves a break imho.

He's a talent, and it will be a shame if he goes, IMO. Game-time for the best of our academy is vital, IMO, but I appreciate that the main function of our academy is to develop talented young players as a constant income stream. I wish Cole the very best whatever he decides.

For many posters in the match-day thread who were telling Pep to take him off, give your heads a wobble. If you really think he was one of the worst performers in the team, at any point in the match, you watch a different game to me. 2 starts, 2 goals.

Last season he made 7 starts in total across all competitions, playing for 850 minutes in the entire season, with just 2 starts in the PL. If he decides to go, it will be last year that makes that decision easier.
