Cole Palmer

For me he had a reasonable game but not outstanding. A good dribble for the Fernandez goal.but the deflection took it into his path. He's ice cold and excellent at penalties I'll give him that. He'd certainly be getting game time here due to our injuries. World class? Not yet.
No where near world class - he's a baby in football terms - may never be. BUT and here's the big but, players who play with confidence like him are rare - i think that through ball after a turn v Newcastle - I mean Haaland would just love those opportunities. That pass came from a corner Chelsea were defending. He turned quickly, had the courage and vision to play that through ball very quickly. Teams drop deep v us BUT not when they have a corner!. Palmer would be a god send to Haaland..and us.. tbf... but he's gone, I think we may end up keeping lesser players McAtee for e.g. to prevent same mistake BUT Palmer was a junior star at jr International level..won a jr u20 cup plus years of being in that set up = a very rare talent. England youths are some of best in the world tbh. So... more work counselling, working out needed as he would have helped us massively this year

By the way, have City run out of money or something ? all i'm hearing is we are struggling with players and so on, get some of the millions upon millions the club has won and not really spent is the last few years and bring some in ffs.
Hard to buy players when the transfer window isn't open

And those mentioned would have been doing what the past 2-3 seasons.?
Hindsight says they'd be playing last season and this season.
It doesn't really matter now but what I find confusing is the deals we put in place that sometimes don't work in our favour.

Lavia Chelsea bought him. The buyback clause we put in place didn't come into effect until end of his second season with Southampton

THB Loan spell with compulsory purchase if Southampton got promoted.

Palmer No buyback clause, as far as I am aware

At the end of the day, we made a good profit on all these players and you may be correct in thinking they may have got little game time had they stayed with us. I think the " problem" is that we play with a small squad, particularly small at the moment, yet Pep appears reluctant to play any of the youngsters, even when he seems to have little choice.
Pep is completely in his right to do this and he hasnt been proved wrong over the last 8 seasons.

Our predicament at the moment is exacerbated when you see 3 of our more senior players at Arsenal and 4 of our former youths on the Chelsea panel at the weekend.
