Cole Palmer

I believe Palmer is a good footballer and is being overrated by the media, just so they could rub it in the face of Pep, However, I really want to agree with most of the things you mentioned, but the part about earning your spot is just one that I'm struggling with. Like how do we talk about earning your spot and then keep a reserved spot for Jack? How does anyone justify flogging Palmer off while retaining the "services" of Jack?

Palmer has been one of the top few players in the league since the start of last season. Not sure I'd say the media are overrating him to get at Pep. He's warranting the praise. He's a big part in Chelsea starting to turn things around.

Yet Foden was afforded more game time even whilst not playing well at times. Yet has regressed
Foden has regressed? He was player of the season last season.

He's been shite this season, but to say he's regressed generally is ridiculous when he's the current holder of the player of the year awards for the whole league

Only it won't be. People will keep bringing it up.

And people will keep bringing up people bringing it up even if no-one has brought it up. I remember the "the Palmer fanboys will be here shortly" type posts after he has a good game and the "strangely quiet in here" type posts when he has a poor game. It's all so childish.

There is a discussion to be had here, whether people like to hear it or not.

Players come, players go, i think a lot of blues knew Palmer was a decent player anyway that's why City got £42m for him, it's just the way things turn out, had he stayed at City he might of played more ? he left and as a result of more and more games he's turned into a really good player.... our loss, it's done.

Thinking back a good few years ago when Jose Mourinho was at Chelsea, he let Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah leave, do you think he would heave got shut of them if he knew how good they would become...... nope.

By the way, have City run out of money or something ? all i'm hearing is we are struggling with players and so on, get some of the millions upon millions the club has won and not really spent is the last few years and bring some in ffs.

My thing was to never leave City. That was not my intention. I wanted to go on loan for a year, come back and be ready for the first team
Cole Palmer

From an interview on Sky earlier this year
The tail must never be allowed to wag the dog.
He is a talented player.
What he never would be is a Pep player.
For whatever reason Pep got shut of him.
If he was going to be constantly moaning about wanting a loan or more playing time he’d undermine the dressing room and would have to go.
I prefer to support Pep’s judgement rather than Palmers.
For me he’s just a more talented Sturridge who got above his station and was shown the door.
Pep did it to Ibrahimović, Ronaldinho and Deco in the past.
