Cole Palmer

His experience should be, that his fitness and injuries have stopped him getting a chance to claim a place. The club have been as patient with him as he has with the situation. Now with Mahrez gone and the club not yet signing a replacement, he should be jumping at the chance imo, even without considering other wide players would move in to cover for Kevin.
And if he looks at how Lewis almost instantly (relatively) speaking became part of the squad, displacing someone as good and experienced as Cancelo, he should see there is a route there if he can show what's needed.
I hope so. I think he is a talent and a local lad coming through the ranks is a joy.

If we buy a RW, he will want out probably. Who can blame him. And we all know What Pep says about unhappy players.

I did say England squad.

But he is out player with years left on his contract! He is lucky like all young players at city we have the players career foremost important other than telling him we could need you this season we saying it's up to you what you want, other clubs wouldn't even give him that choice..

It's a tough call for Cole. We are asking him to back himself to compete with new signings in his position. His experience is that if we have a full squad, including a right winger, he won't get many games. Unless he feels that his performances have shifted the chance of his game time, or he has been told that, then you could understand him wishing to go elsewhere.

He can play in more than one position. I feel with his injury situation last season the stop start season another season with pep where he will play a lot more games he will learn a lot more under pep..

Entirely. And it helps the squad long term, by having bodies that can be relied on, and ironically freeing up space for top quality players. As opposed to using those spaces on lesser level squad players to fill the gaps.

It may sometomes sound like I maybe say 'it is up to him' with a bit of discontent that he is pushing to leave. That is not the case, and I hope he decides to stay and is happy about it and hungry to prove himself.

Which is exactly what I think Pep wants and why he is saying what he is saying. He is managing Palmer, without even directing him on the pitch. He wants Palmer to stay, as opposed tonthe club keeping him. I also personally think it is why the club are not rushing signing the likes of Doku or others, because they are giving Palmer the time here.

Good point. I do like him on the right wing, and I do prefer Bobb more centrally. Perhaps we will get the chance to see them interchanging at some point.

I don't think he will leave if Doku will come in, hes right footed and can play on both wings and the left preferably.. competition to Jack etc, if Olise had came in or another left footed winger comes in its another story though.. I think it will be hard to motivate him to stay then considering the noises hes making.

In all honesty, if I was Cole and City go out and buy a RW player I'd be off. He's not that young anymore and needs 1st team footie to break into the full England squad.
Foden didn’t move when we bought Jack and already had more depth than we do now ?

I get what you’re saying but he can either back himself, listen to the best manager in the world / possibly in history or move on and step down to guarantee first team football (like Sancho).

I wouldn’t berate him for the latter, better than doing a Maguire but I’d be gutted to lose him !

Foden steller perfomance shows that he is finally able to play the role centrally to his best. Pep has been training him and we will see his paitence pay off.

I really want Palmer to stay and not to push for move like Sancho. He is better off being little bit patient.

His interview from last year he set two year target to play regularly in first team as well.

Clip:

I really want him to stay too as I think he’s ready to push for a first team place this season - hope he believes and backs himself to do that.
