Cole Palmer

I hope he stays. Him and Doku to fight it out for the rw position. They both offer us something different.
I expect Bernardo to start most matches at RW. Doku off the bench for RW/LW. Foden/Kovacic/Rodri trio can be considered pretty untouchable in the middle right now. We are about to sign Nunes as well. Lewis will get some minutes in midfield, I am sure. Kev will return from his injury in a few months.

I don't know if staying is the best move for Cole under the circumstances. For me, a loan to a PL side would be ideal.

Pep said in a press conference that Cole will either stay or be sold and won't go out on loan. Let's see what happens.

If he's sold will make sure to include a buyback clause like we do for all our top prospects.

I like Cole, and I hope there is a place for him in the squad. I am just not sure where, but Pep will know what's the best course of action.

I think that's the honest approach, and best for everyone all round. The lad's 21. He doesn't want to be going out on loan. That's a road that leads nowhere at this point. He's shown he's got talent. He could hold down a place, I believe, in a club in the lower half of the table of the PL, and even the middle area of it, with ease. The question is — and it's a tough one — can he hold down some sort of a place in the best side in the world? (Doku said that, and he was stating nothing other than the blunt truth, at present). He doesn't want to be sat around on the bench for weeks and months — I wouldn't, in his place — but he'll only be picked on merit, or if we have bad luck with injuries.
It's a turning point, one way or the other.

Too many unknowns at the momebt for me, Doku settling in, how ready is he? if we sell now we're selling a bit blind because we don't know his level yet this season properly signs are a corner has been turned. Cup games and World Club coming up, need plenty of players, I'd have another look in Jan.

Maybe I'm reading the situation wrong, but when he said that it just made me think he wants him out then. Doesn't really say I want you to stay. He had just had a good game in the super cup aswel.

I'd be sad to see one of our own go....especially as I think he has the ability to play for the 1st team. The forward 4 or 5 don't seem to get as much game time as the rest, maybe it's down to the high energy press or maybe its lack of penetration on that given day but most of the forwards (bar Erling and kdb when he's fit) have to accept 60 or so minutes and expect to be subbed off or on.
Cole, Bernardo, Foden, Doku, Alvarez, Grealish & Kdb have to share 4 spots in the team. Stay and fight Cole. You're good enough.

He could stay and check what chances is he really getting until January, i bet some clubs under pressure after Christmas would take him on loan easily especially ones around 13th place and lower in PL.

What I cannot see is both Palmer and McAtee getting considerable amount of game time, one of them maybe but not both.

Pep certainly didnt sanction loan moves until we secured Doku and still to see what midfielder we get if any.
