I'm not bitter at all.

I put him with other young English players that are happy with the cash and don't want to push on.

Why just ‘young English players’ ? Pretty much all players want more cash.

You could argue he wanted more game time, which would help him to push on, rather than sitting on the bench most weeks (which he was).

He’s now one of the best young players in the league and playing for England, which means I doubt he regrets his choice.

Let’s be honest, the move has been amazingly good for the lad. He’s now a guaranteed starter and a high profile player in a high profile team. He will become a regular international player for England due to that. He was a bit part player for us. Nothing more. As far as moves go it’s been a 100% success. I’m chuffed for the kid. He took a gamble, backed his own ability and it’s paid off handsomely for him. I only wish him well.

and would he have done that in our team no, because he wouldnt have taken penalties, nor would he have got close to the amount of minutes due to not being better than what is currently ahead of him, ive already said this in another thread but we have once again become a victim of our own success, palmer is talented compared to whats around him, compared to what would have been around him at city and the level of games and the difference in the way the opposition plays, the numbers would be night and day, palmer is a good player i dont dispute that but the fact he is a beneficiary of circumstance and location as much as he is of talent.

Come on…
He contributes far more than mount to be fair to the lad. However Mount is a pretty low bar. If Palmer had come through the Chelsea academy a lot of people would be saying that he would be an ideal player for us.

Yeah that’s true, he needs to be better on that front. He can be a passenger at times when we’re under the cosh.

nice when ex players do well in the PL ,but not too well, the thought of Gabby J firing Arsenal to last seasons title had me sweating after tossing and turning on many a sleepless night
