Cole Palmer

I don't see how people can say he isn't a Pep player when he signed Doku, and Savinho.

Because it's bollocks used as a coping mechanism. We are supposed to simultaneously believe he was to be part of the first team squad so he couldn't go on loan, but also that he isn't a Guardiola-type player. I get it. Some people don't like to think a mistake could have been made. But, really.

And Chelsea themselves have had more than most!

Palmer is more akin to KDB, because I knew the talent we had, the fans knew the talent we had, but Mourinho preferred Oscar, who was less talented on the ball but worked harder off the ball. Mourinho used to call him the best defensive 10 in the world.

But KDB showed immediately after leaving what a big mistake we all knew it was, and a Bundesliga POTY season later he’s at City winning titles.

Salah was more of a shock that he turned out as good as he did. I wasn’t even worried when Liverpool signed him, that’s how much I didn’t it see his trajectory coming.

True, a lot of people here would do all the mental gymnastics or nitpicking just to say Palmer isn't good enough for the city standard. But look at our current squad and poor performance. how many players right now actually live up to the city standard?

Almost all of them when they are fit, and if the whole squad including Rodri was fit,we'd probably be top of the league instead of 4th.

Since he's been at Chelsea he's scored every penalty he's taken. I remember when we played Liverpool in an FA Youth Cup final & it went to penalties. He missed the decisive penalty which handed the Youth Cup to Liverpool. His penalty taking has obviously improved since then.

hindsight is a wonderful thing
Yes,but Foresight is better. ; )

I said ,when he left City, I thought he had the talent to he one of the best players on the planet. The media are definitely over hype ing the player, but " The Premiership" needs a superstar to sell the product.....not many other contenders about, would you agree?
Therefore all the plaudits fall on Palmer, that's the way it goes.
I didn't need the media to tell me how great a talent he was 15 months ago,( and not one journalist predicted bow good he would be ) and I'm certainly not swayed by the Palmer road show today...many minutes of nothing from the lad in various matches this season....but he steps up a notch when needed, and it's those sort of players that can make a difference,in the blink of an eye...invaluable when going for titles.

He is brilliant.he effects games, not every minute of them ,but he just does things that many other top level footballers cannot. And he makes the game/ goal scoring look so simple.with a cool head.

Who knows what the lad can achieve....if he keeps his head, and has luck avoiding serious Injury.

Fantastic player

If you think so, then surely Palmer also would be good enough for us. Also most of our players were good because we had fit Rodri, now that Rodri is absent we start collapsing. By the way, I don't think our current situation is on letting Palmer leave, Pep won't utilize him, and he won't help our defense issue anyway. I'm just talking about the double standard I saw here.
