This is something I never actually knew although I suppose it doesn't surprise me. Been watching a documentary on Don Revie tonight and it mentions this after Revie took the England job. Was this ever anything that was in the public eye back in the day? I suppose the thought of Bell in that Leeds set up is almost frightening.

Colin Bell was coveted by every team everywhere. he really was a legend and always will be by those of us seen him play.

For our younger City followers, Colin Bell would now be ranked in as high regard as any player in the world.

the level of a football player bell was he would be ballon d'or winner many times

Often wonder how colin would rate in the current game , probably one of the players with his athleticism , stamina and ability to read a game who would still be a great player in the modern era. Always thought Bell was the best player ever to pull on a blue shirt , but Merlin had me wavering a bit over the last couple of seasons , at the moment No.8 King Colin just shades it.

Bell was years ahead of his time as a footballer, he was the modern box to box midfielder to a tee, he would have had no problem fitting in to the current game.

Best player I have seen in a City shirt in all the time I have supported City, which is over 50 years.

WHY ??????

bell was the best in the late 60s and early 70s nothing come close the man he was a super human with his box to box runs his power over the others and what a shot he had defo had it all

the thing is like today he played for Manchester city had he played for united or Liverpool the media would be still talking about BELL much like that ticket tout over the road with a comb over or the drunken best or king Keagan or dalglish

bell will never be forgotten by the blues and the club the history books will show it and if the others don't see what we seen they are blind or just daft
