Colin Bell RIP - Ian Cheeseman interview with Jon Bell (P142)

Walking my 2 German Shepherds before the game tonight, looked upto the stars and thought to myself "hope we can do it for you tonight Colin Bell".
Then thought "no we are going to do it tonight cos its for you the King of the Kippax"
On my knees in a praying position in front of telly when Dino scored.
A perfect passing over. RIP

Watched the game in a pub in Tampa surrounded by 6 Blues and maybe 10 reds.... I knew i was the only Blue there who even knew who Colin was, never mind having seen him play. But that wasnt an issue.
I was reading this thread before kick off and had made a contribution a few pages back.
Upon the minute silence i was fine.... But seeing Summerbee and his tears set me off - unashamedly so.
As soon as the minute silence eneded, i raised my glass and sang "we'll drink a drink a drink.....'
The full song, and ended it with "everyone raise your glass to the King."
And they all did. Even the reds. And I thanked them all...

Did the same myself- but on my own unfortunately

Was going to write my story about when I met the King tonight because I knew we'd beat them in his honour so thought I'd wait till after the game. Anyway, final whistle I phoned my 79 year old dad to congratulate each other (he took me to my first game in 1971 and we both idalised King Colin) then I got a call off my best mate who I've been going city, home and away since the 80"s to tell me his wife's dad (another big blue) had passed away tonight! So so gutted for them. Anyway, my advice to anyone who can be arsed reading this is... Live every day like it's your last, tell everyone you care about how much you love them and always believe tomorrow will be better than today. God bless, Rip the King and CT we D

Cannot claim to have ever seen him play in the flesh, but from the comments made and love for the man, Much respect to him and fans of City.
Listened to the comments on the radio and for Joe Corrigan to compare him to KDB, well he must have been one hell of a player.
I then watched thatvolley at Wembley and was immediately comparing that to Van Bastens volley.
RIP King Colin
