Colin Bell RIP - Ian Cheeseman interview with Jon Bell (P142)

I saw King Colin at Glyn Pardoes funeral and he looked very poor on his feet and limping and walking pretty slowly.
Didn`t get a chance to talk to him but I acknowledged him and his wife,as I was walking back to my car.
A very shy and reserved guy who hates any form of publicity and I suspect it was his wish to City to not mention anything.Thats only my take on it ... but I wouldn`t be surprised in the least.
A true gent and City legend and I like many other old farts have been very fortunate to see two of the finest players to ever don a City shirt ... King Colin and The Magician. What a pairing that would have been.
And how coincidental is that ... David also hated publicity and another gent who goes about his business in a very reserved manner. Two peas from the same pod.

How are you doing yourseĺf?
Get well soon both of you

The one and only King. Never seems to want any attention drawn to him whatsoever. Hope he makes a speed recovery

Hoping for a full recovery and a long happy life ahead King Colin, I feel blessed that you were around at the time I was going to games.

On the food subject, am I right in thinking Colin owned his own restaraunt with Colin Waldron a Burnley player? if so its no wonder the food is an issue.
That is true, near Whitefield off Bury new road. I remember going to my brothers 21st there, 47 years ago

Hope the king is out of hospital soon and is getting better each day whatever he is in there for.

All blues are behind your Colin
