colin bell

Colin is the greatest player I have ever seen play for city, a quiet modest person & a true gentleman, He was at the final but he chose not to sit with Francis Lee, Tony Book & Mike Sumerbee,
Lets not get into who said what & who did what in the past lets just be glad we have a seen some truly great players in the past & now have some more truly great players to lead us into the future.
 
A lot of jumping to conclusions on this thread. Nobody seems to know for certain if Colin Bell was at the final or not. Some state he was some say otherwise.

If he wasn't at the final only he knows why. Perhaps he just didn't want to go, perhaps he couldn't get a ticket (ex-players brought their own tickets), perhaps he was happy to stay at home and watch it on the box, perhaps he had a prior engagement; perhaps perhaps perhaps.

Then again perhaps he was there but out of sight, Wembley's a big place.

He attends matches at Coms when Franny's there so I doubt he'd miss Wembley just because Franny was there.
 
Read Rodney Marsh book.
It portrays CB in a different light, it gives the insight in the CB sacking.
It say's the FL did not sack CB and to the contary it was FL who got
the club to settle out of court beacuse CB was idolised by FL and he did not want CB to have to go into the witness box.

Was the greatest City player of the last era no doubt, but.
As I said get hold of Rodney's book.
 
he was definately at the final - not with the club as they gave him invite too late but a guest of david bernstein

Swing around to the benches, go up to middle tier approx half way down between 3118 & 3001 you should see Francis Lee, Tony Book & Mike Sumerbee,
Around 6 seats to the right & 4 rows up I am sure its Colin & his wife.

Big men don't hold grudges because they were sacked from a job they weren't that good at. That's my opinion and calling me a **** won't change that.
