You have inadvertently nailed it there.

It is indeed a Roman construction term detailing amphitheatre layouts.
They are the exits and entrances ( staircases) to the terracing aptly named as the Romans would indeed be sick in them as they were the nearest point away from the seating areas , where they would sit, getting pissed , watching people getting thrown the to the lions.

6 of us going, staying in Leicester on the piss.
If anyone can recommend a place to meet up with fellow blues before the game
There's a pub near the City centre we went in for last seasons Leicester game where the landlord is a Blue. Can't remember the name of it but he was on here inviting us. Maybe he will again it was a good laugh pre match

Can't remember the name myself but when you get there tell him he needs to open up a little earlier in future.

Sounds like he’s not running it anymore.

Can't remember the Salmon but looks decent for real ale - Black Country Ales now, something of an acquired taste, but with several guest beers too. Globe is a solid pick in the centre, an Everards mainstay.

The Rutland and Derby.
Good choice of Ales, great food and too posh for Scousers.
On route from centre to Stadium.
