Did you know that over the years the Charity shield was by invite ..ie...City v Burnley when both had won.....well...errr...nothing the year before,if the game ended in a draw the trophy was shared for 6 months each, maybe this is why some older fans like myself see it as nothing more than a friendly and refuse to waste money goingTricky Dickys Right Foot Shot said:ManCitizens. said:Fuzzy Logic said:If you want to go to a shit hole and pay £45 for a friendly then fair enough.
I wouldn't waste my time and money, although i'll watch it on tv if its on terrestrial - anyone know what channel its on?
It isn't a friendly.
Don't you know? Now we've won the FA cup and the Premier League the charity shield is below us now and just a small time friendly!
Obviously I don't know what I'm talking about though because I don't have a mortgage to pay or kids to feed which I say fair play to those that do and can/can't make it.
