Community shield

How long will the players get off, sure its usually been 4 weeks after leaving the tournament. But the community shield would only give the players leaving this weekend a week of pre season training before the game I think we'd prefer 2 but hardly any of our first 11 will get any game time before the season starts. Maybe we will only give them 2 or 3 weeks off which isn't great either.
Players getting to the semis won't leave until 15 July only 4 weks until the season proper.

Bravo, Laporte, Sané, Mahrez* and Jorginho* didn't go to the world cup.

Gundogan, Otamendi, Aguero and Bernardo Silva are already out of the tournament.

Ederson has been an unused sub and Fernandinho has only played 55 minutes.

Kompany has only played 15 minutes.

Mendy has only played 40 minutes.

Not too bad when you consider how many of our players went to Russia.

add in the mix the likes of foden,diaz,nemecha and tosin and it aint too bad

Yes but it doesn't answer the question, if those that went out over the last few days have 3 or 4 weeks off they won't have a pre season before they need to start playing games. So the question is will they still get 4 weeks off ?
 
Do we actually care about this trophy? Or will it simply be a chance to try out new players/tactics/formations?

Love to watch City - love to win trophies - but this trophy... not in the least bit important.
