Utter B****CKS. Yes, maybe at the corporate level, but then we all know these corporate muppets have absolutely no idea what goes on at the coal face. They are banged to rights on this one, which is evident by the speed at which they have deployed the teflon umbrella's.

The scumbags haven't properly apologised for Jimmy Saville's antics, so I can't see Pete or the Club getting an apology any time soon.

Exactly the same response I got and they didn't provide any information on how to contact the DG as requested. I've also asked for the name of the agency for clarification and made reference to the number of male names they could have chosen and how every single person at BBC Sport would know what Bertie means.

Which of course begs the question: why did they pick Bertie when they could have picked any name, or indeed no name at all? If you know that Bertie is a nickname for City fans, then you know that it is a derogatory term. As with any term of derision, you only know it because of what it means!
 
Strange how the image appears not to have the agency tags eg AFP, SNS like most of the pictures that appear on the site do.

Have we heard what agency it supposedly came from yet?
 
I doubt anyone outside of MCFC and MUFC knows that Bertie is Man Utd for a City fan. It's such a stupid term, that not many people would have a clue about the angle.

The official route to escalate this is to re-submit a complaint and reference the previous one when you do. Then someone else has to look at it. I'm a bit busy at the moment but I'll draft a sample complaint that others can use if they want. They aren't getting away with this.

The picture has been used before by them with a completely different caption so they've bought it previously (with or without the caption) and I've seen it before. Funnily enough they reverted to the original caption ("I wonder who he's supporting today") when the fuss started so someone clearly amended it. Their explanation is utter bollocks and a pack of lies.

If they knew the name then they know why it's used,they would never put rag under a picture would they now
The blue is called Pete and there was no need to use anything else

Absolutely true PB!! I first saw it as I was travelling to the game with the caption you mentioned. It may have had something saying '' No blue glasses? Poor effort!'' or similar too.

Their sly piss taking of our club and fan's has been steadily growing, while they keep on, as usual, lauding the rags. Then we have that twat's Stone's interviews with Pep where he keeps on goading him in an aggressive manner to get a reaction, like the ''You don't sound very happy'' after the Burnley game. In the old days Mickey or one of the boys would have dished out a bit of short sharp warning that he was overstepping the mark, he would certainly have got the message!

Which is exactly the point Marv. You'd have to be a rag to come up with a caption like that and it would be a deliberate action. So if someone at the BBC has done it, we need to know.
