Completely Disillusioned

In eighteen months, the club has changed. The outlook, the structure, everything. We have become arrogant, self-important and largely hypocritical. I hate that real City fans are being cheated by this stupid regime. I'm very young but already I feel completely out of touch with football. Who cares if we might break the top four? That's not exciting! It's predictable as hell. We spend stupid money on stupid, overpaid players to get into a silly competition to get even more silly money and more silly money as a reward for winning it. Football is being destroyed by clubs like us and I hate that. I feel like giving up and starting over such is my resentment towards the Premier League.

Rant over.

A lot of City fans have become the thing they've hated for a long time, and don't even realise it, as bad as RAGs, and other team fans are hating it..eg: look at the Everton celebrations, because as bad as United fans are, they've always been that way and are expected to be like that with what they've won, but us we just came from no where, bought all these players and now we've a chance to compete at the top and for many teams that streak of arrogance and the attitude off a lot of fans is more painful then listening to the RAGs.
But that's natural I suppose, when winning hits you out of the blue it happens. Now I'm not used to having my teams go from average to top class like this, there's progression and success in underage level and young players come through, that's how it happens, and it's sorta hinted at, for me there it seems a little more true and deserved then just buying the success. But that's the premiership and it's different to the sports here so I'll take it the way it comes it could never come anyway. That is the way of football and money wins you football. It bothers me a bit the way there are double standards, no one gives a crap when Chelsea forks out a whole tone of money, but when it's City, we're ending the world..do we not have a right to challenge??

There are so many things I'd like to see changed about football. But sadly it'll never happen. I agree that they are a world and a half out of touch with everyone else, most of them anyway.

Tevez is an example for me, and as good a football player he is, if I hear him whine one more time about poor old me, Man U didn't think I was worth 25million, no one should have that arrogance, no one, whatever about what he thinks in his head, but coming out and moaning about it over and over again is just filled with arrogance, and I promise you if Dunne left the way Tevez left Man U I wouldn't be sure he'd be warmly welcomed back. But that just sums up for me the attitude of many players these days, and yet he's one who actually works on the field. There are many who don't, and to be fair to Tevez his attitude on the pitch doesn't match the attitude he's shown off it lately. But the way he's talked about Neville. Neville is one of the biggest clowns you'll come across but no matter what Nevile said or did, you never, as a professional football player go to the media to get your opinion which is just name calling and insults back, you don't call another player an idiot and a "bootlicker" in an interview like that, settle your differences on the pitch, but not off it. Not like that, it's not professional, it's not in the blue way anyway, you just don't do that in a professional game and he's asking to be targeted now next game which isn't what we want.

If there was one thing I wish that could be changed was a cap on salaries and i would love to see the names stripped from their jerseys and given numbers 1-11. So it doesn't matter who you are, it's about the team, not the individual..but that wouldn't market well.

And you're right, they're not in touch with the rest of us. Their world, and our world are two different places and when we go to them it's supposed to be not only for our enjoyment, but an escape from everything else. But they're not in the same world anymore. I see rugby players, some of the best in this country, and the world for that matter, out all the time shopping, just around town..etc. and they would talk to every man on the street who'd approach them and ask them questions, they are in touch they are real, and available to the public. Just reallly nice guys.

The Munster players arriving in the airport at 2am in 08 after winning the Heineken Cup, (same thing happened in 2006)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiYlf6XAf-Y
....couple 100 songs later..and as many pints later they're still there.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipRPJlSP70E
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh18XojwwbQ..captain still there and singing.

You wouldn't see that here at all, or in any football situation.

That's what it is here, and our hurlers and our gaelic footballers, they are our neighbours, our clubmates, our work colleagues, our friends..etc yet one county/club jersey later in June and they're heroes.

Money and business used to be just a part of football in the Premiership, but now, it's everything and that's sad. I'd rather City get there to the top off their own backs, off players being brought in, young kids, and developing them. But that will never be the way and football will never be like that so to compete with well..anyone.

But I've always felt that with football in general, not just over the last few months like.

Football is the way it is. And the premiership is the way it is and it'll stay like so.

ive waited 36 years for this to happen and if you or anybody else doe not like it well TOUGH BLOODY SHIT.

all so this comment by you "A lot of City fans have become the thing they've hated for a long time, and don't even realise it, as bad as RAGs"

and on the tevez situation all so talking bollocks again as usual,he was put down by the noobs ferguson and chuckle brother no.1 he has every right to call the gobshites what he wants!

this topic has really pissed me off!

Xavier you take the biscuit you really do saying all the shit you have said,"football is being destroyed by clubs like us " wtf kind of comment is that, you need to give your head a damm good wobble and come back a manchester city fan because the crap you have just posted is complete bollocks.

Irrispective who thinks they own the club, we the supporters own it. When Swails left did we stop supporting, No. Nor shall we. This club is ours and always will be. No matter who comes in the heart of this club is us. City supporters will never loose our sense of humour it is always there on any given game.

I had been gutted about the ticket pricing for City card holders, especially when the club are asking for £40 a match. But I guess that's only to be expected after huge investment.
And I note that there are temporary deals available, such as £40 for two league matches, which is much more more reasonable. But this regime really isnt that much different from previous in that, if you're not a ST holder, you re going to have to pay through the nose to follow the Blues. Disappointed but not disillusioned.

Whereas in the good old days, the prime of Peter Swales, Louis Edwards, Don Revie, Tommy Docherty, Ron Atkinson, George Graham, Terry Venables & of course Harry Redknapp, integrity was the name of the game.

Clearly Peter Swales was one of us ;-)

Last time i met PJS, i was wandering around the nether regions of the Main Stand whilst some development was taking place, he was there, he was clearly a man connected to Maine Rd, and power-crazy or not, he was at his spiritual home, the Sheikh's i fear is not so close to Moss Side.

To go back to the good old days when we were ridiculously shite, laughed at and getting relegated every other season.

The OP is a rag, a journo or Colin Shindler. Beware these type of people who will try and undermine our position and owner, they are doing it for one reason, we are now becoming a success.

Swales on taking over binned a lot of City history in the skips, well documented in Alexander's recent book. The man took money out of City. The current regime are determined to preserve the history of the club, speak to Summerbee and others about the plans for the heritage and new museum. Did you not see the 70 team on the pitch Tuesday.

Beware posts like this for they are only trying to undermine us with lies.....
