Compulsory Voting: Yes or No?

How can you make it compulsory if you have already excluded a certain demographic. That’s not democratic.

Also, what is the point in voting in the constituency where I reside when it’s near 70% Tory on the last election?

If there was compulsory voting, you can guarantee that non-voters would be banned from voting by Witchy Patel as a punishment

Said it before and say it again. If you voted for, say the Green Party, your "wasted" vote loses in the MP vote but counts in the election of the upper house (ex house of lords) based on a sort of PR.

If you and your fellow greens got, say 2% of the total country vote then the greens get 2% of the upper house, perhaps 10 members.

Would mean you're less likely to see your vote as wasted and encourage greater voting participation.
Also means a broader reflection of the views of the people - prospective laws could be subject to a better scrutiny.

Tories would never have that, they pack to Lords with their favourite donors and oligarch.
