people really don't get how the academy is meant to work.

Maybe that's because it hasn't worked to date.

I know, right...we should be turning out at least 4-5 Messi'esque kids per year with the kind of money we have had invested into our club.

no ones saying that, I can forgive people for getting frustrated with the academy because we haven't had a player break through since Michael Johnson really (how many years ago is that), unless you include Boyata maybe

Training with the first team already.

(That is Neymar)

He trained quite often with the first team at City so I'm not sure that indicates any great progress.

Indeed he did.

What's your point he trained with the 1st team? Already?

-- Tue Nov 05, 2013 1:41 pm --

proved my point, if you really expected anyone to come through in that time period or be close to then you don't understand how it works.

Agree it proved your point he doesn't understand. He's not the sole one though ...

Was going through his twitter and saw posts where he mentioned he was watching the City game and predicting a City win. There was another post which made me smile which said "Manchester is blue". Always love guys who follow us even after leaving the team.

Denis Suárez is the latest new addition to Spain's Under-21 squad for the game that Julien Lopetegui's team is scheduled to play against Germany next Tuesday at Palencia's Nueva Balastera stadium.
Derik Osede, who had previously been called-up, but was unable to join his teammates for their most recent game due to injury, also made the squad that is full of European Under-21 Championship winners. Isco, Carvajal, Sarabia, Muniain, Alberto Moreno and Morata are all part of the team that lifted the title in Israel last summer.

soooo, they new Barca situation is something we might be able to prosper on in terms of getting more money from Denis Suarez.. Why? Because they will most likely promote Denis Suarez to the first team next season wich will probably triggers a bonus for us. And he might get games, which means more money for us. He looks to have improved, he is in the u21 spain team again which is quite a feat actually. I hope he makes the breakthrough to be honest, even tho that might mean that we will get slagged off for not letting him play ofter, but he is a good guy, and he left on good terms with us.
Btw it was https://twitter.com/RafaelH117 who said Denis Suarez would be promoted, he is a quite good ITK for barcelona.

Any stats knocking about for Suarez? Goals, apps and assists for Barca B just out of interest?

Soccerway is a top site for results/tables etc for the the more obscure leagues.

Don't think the Spanish Segunda is that obscure mate.

Really?
Doesn't mean much outside Spain except to FM/FIFA 14 nerds :)
I was trying to help as last week someone else was asking about Gala's results on the Mancini thread. Those results are not as easy to get as BL/La Liga/Serie A and Soccerway is a good source of reference for pretty much any league.
