i wish they'd extend the zone to Radcliffe. It's just taken me 1/2hr to drive 700 metres and that just the school run traffic.
Between 5.30 and 6.30 most of the town is in gridlock, polluting the air and doing far more harm to kids with asthma than second hand fag smoke ever could when outside.

HENCE- the congestion charge will benefit you becasue your publice transport will be improved. It's dinasours like yourself that are not allowing this country to move forward.

Even if (and it's a big IF) public transport is improved, it won't be improved for all. There will still be some people who struggle to use it to get to their destination, to compound their misery by charging them a congestion fee for a service that they can't use is just rubbing salt in.

No one's against that, what Matty's saying as are an awful lot of us, is that the motorist is already taxed a fortune (£140 billion a year) and that the vote is going ahead BEFORE any improvement in public transport has taken place.
We all appreciate that if you live down a country lane there aint going to be a tram outside your door, but when even central government withdrew its funding for the trams why should the most taxed motorists on the planet have to bail it out?

Why do you beleive that the filthy public transport we have now, including the trams, will magically be transformed into clean ones simply because they will be 'new'? And if you truly also believe that it's only 'one or two people in the middle of nowhere', you are mistaken. I could live within half a mile of a super dooper new tram stop, and STILL you won't be seeing my missus walking there at 5am. Unless I missed the bit of the plan where the council are employing Judge Dredd to also sort all the scum off our streets too?

Despite being told it is just hearsay. I repeat, I work in London and have seen and experienced the effects first hand. It has not worked on any level, transit times through the zone and traffic levels are back to where they were. This is nothing more than a tax
